Rod Stewart, 78, looks all partied out after a boozy dinner as he continues the birthday celebrations for son Alistair’s 18th in Rome

He treated his son Alistair to a meal for his 18th birthday on Monday and took him to chic restaurant The Maine in Mayfair, London.

And Rod Stewart continued to pull out all the stops for his son’s milestone birthday as they flew to Rome the next day.

The father-son duo made the most of their time in the Italian capital, heading to the Stadio Olimpico to watch their beloved Celtics take on Lazio in a Champions League match.

While the Scottish team may have lost 2-0, that didn’t stop the couple from later enjoying a night out at the Kalò di Ciro Salvo 50 pizzeria, where the couple and their friends enjoyed classic Italian food and red wine.

Rod, 78, is a lifelong supporter of Celtic and has the club’s crest tattooed on his arm.

He got the tattoo during the Australian leg of his Rod Stewart The Hits tour, which he has been participating in since 2021.

Despite the club’s loss that afternoon, Rod looked cheerful that evening as he chatted with his friends before having his picture taken with the restaurant staff.

Looking typically stylish for the outing, he paired a baby pink sweater with a skinny white scarf, a black jacket and fur-lined Gucci boots.

Alistair opted for a monochromatic ensemble, combining a gray turtleneck sweater under a long coat with neat tapered trousers.

His mother Penny Lancaster, 52, was not at the festivities but had joined the couple for the festivities in London the night before.

Penny also shared a sparkling tribute to her eldest son on Instagram on his 18th birthday.

She shared a series of throwback snaps of herself and Rod with Alastair over the years and gushed about her ‘amazing’ son in a caption.

She wrote, “My beautiful firstborn son that I had dreamed of for 34 years of my life came to me as a gift that I have always cherished. Happy 18th birthday. So proud of the amazing man you have become xxxx.’

Penny and the Sailing hitmaker also share son Aiden, 12, while Rod also has six children from previous relationships.

Rod welcomed his eldest child, a daughter Sarah Streeter, in 1963 when he was 17 years old with his then partner Susannah Boffey.

He then welcomed daughter Kimberly, 44, and son Sean, 43, with his ex-wife Alana Stewart, whom he divorced in 1984.

Rod also shares Ruby, 36, with former model Kelly Emberg, and has daughter Renee, 31, and son Liam, 29, with New Zealand model Rachel Hunter.

Rod was recently one of many A-list celebrities to attend the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

He made a funny face as he sat at the table with Gordon Ramsay, who had just become a father for the sixth time.

They certainly had a lot to talk about, considering Rod has eight children of his own.
