Rockingham, WA: Young parents Ben Smith and Drew La Reservee shocked by the sudden unexplained death of their 16-month-old toddler Micah
The parents of a 16-month-old toddler are devastated after the boy died of unexplained causes overnight earlier this month.
Ben Smith and Drew La Reservee from Rockingham south of Perth, Western Australia found their son Micah unconscious on Friday morning, June 14.
“My love, there is nothing in the world that could ever prepare Dad and I for this. We love you so much. Forever. We miss you so much. Fly high above and watch over us,” Ms. La Reservee said last week.
Family friend Lily Hewson has organized a fundraiser to cover funeral costs so the shattered couple can take time off work to cope with the tragedy.
“Micah passed away unexpectedly overnight… They don’t have a reason yet (they’re waiting for the coroner’s report),” Ms Hewson told the Sound Telegraph.
“It is with heavy hearts that we come to you today. Ben and Drew have recently experienced an unimaginable tragedy, unexpectedly losing their beloved Micah,” the fundraiser said.
“As their close friends, we want to stand behind them at this incredibly difficult time and do what we can to help. Micah was such a happy, loving little boy who brought so much joy and hope.”
Ms. La Reservee thanked those who shared their condolences.
“We are so overwhelmed by the amount of love and support we have received that we really can’t thank everyone enough,” she told the Sound Telegraph.
