Houston Rockets star Dillon Brooks and Chicago Bulls veteran DeMar DeRozan were both ejected after getting into an on-court scuffle on Thursday night.

The ejections occurred in the third quarter after DeRozan fouled Jalen Green.

Brooks, who has developed a reputation as an agitator similar to that of Warriors star Draymond Green, took exception with the foul on Green and got in DeRozan’s face.

The two got tangled up with several others and jawed at each other before being separated.

The group that stopped Brooks, with some of the Bulls also in the massive confrontation, eventually fell to the ground before cooler heads prevailed.

Brooks’ Houston teammate Jock Landale spoke out after the Rockets’ win over the Bulls about how things need to change.

“Dillon Brooks, if you’re listening, this ain’t Memphis, man,” Landale said. ‘Don’t let yourself be sent away any longer. We need you here. We need that physicality.”

Before being acquired by the Rockets last year, Brooks spent six seasons with the Grizzlies, with the end of his tenure in Memphis riddled with lockouts and suspensions.

Brooks gaining attention as a dirty player didn’t start until the 2022 postseason, where he fouled Gary Payton II.

The Rockets are currently 2.5 games behind the Warriors for the last spot in the Play-In Tournament.
