Rockdale dentist Maged Farag is accused of disturbing sex crimes against a trainee he allegedly drugged and gassed – but his loyal wife is STILL standing by him

EXCLUSIVE

Dentist Maged Farag, his wife Neven and their three children seem the picture of a typical wealthy, affluent family from Sydney’s lush southern suburbs.

They own a manicured waterfront mansion worth $4 million, two luxury vehicles and — until recently — ran a successful dental clinic that had operated for more than six years in nearby Rockdale.

But the family is embroiled in a legal battle as the 60-year-old father of three is accused of breaching his position of trust by drugging a woman and sexually assaulting her at their dental clinic.

Police will allege the woman had applied for a position at the company when Farag asked her to come in for out-of-hours training services.

But once there he allegedly convinced her to strip naked for a ‘skin check’ during which he sprayed her with laughing gas, then rubbed her body and sucked her nipple.

After the woman reported the alleged incident to police, detectives found nude photos of her on his phone, as well as intimate photos of several other women, which are now the subject of further investigation.

But despite the allegations against her husband, Mrs Farag – who did reception and administrative work for their family business – is loyal to him.

In his bail application last month, she volunteered to supervise the very limited activities he is allowed under strict “home detention” while his case remains before the courts.

During the hearing in the NSW Supreme Court, prosecutors had opposed bail.

‘If the [fresh] Facts are accepted, they suggest that the applicant has coerced, or at least abused, young women in the context of his professional life,” their written submissions said.

However, his application was ultimately successful and the couple found a $1 million bond to secure his release – an amount that will be forfeited if Farag, who has Australian-Egyptian dual citizenship, fails to appear in court to appear.

On Thursday, the couple was spotted leaving their palatial home to head to Miranda police station as part of Farag’s strict bail conditions, which require him to report to police seven days a week.

Under the terms, he may also only leave the house to report to the police, meet his lawyers, attend court or receive medical treatment – all of which must be done, by order of the court, in the company of his woman. .

During an outing earlier this week, the couple did everything they could to shield him from the media and public eye as they headed to an appointment in their Mercedes.

As Mrs Farag drove, her husband – instead of sitting in the front passenger seat – cowered in the back, with sunglasses on his face and clothes hanging from the inside of the vehicle to hide the rear windows.

In another show of support, Ms Farag has maintained a united front on social media.

Her Facebook profile still shows a photo of her standing next to her husband, wrapped in his embrace, as he lovingly holds her under his right arm.

Farag was arrested on September 19 after a 21-year-old woman complained to police that she had allegedly been sexually assaulted at his Rockdale clinic.

Police will allege her ordeal began when she applied for a part-time job at the practice and was told there were two positions available – a dental assistant/receptionist and a medical staffer – as part of a new cosmetic venture Farag was planning to run.

According to police allegations filed in court last month, the woman went to the clinic three times after hours to meet Farag for training. The Daily Telegraph reported.

The woman told police that Farag allegedly made her sign a non-disclosure agreement during the first session before asked her to take off all her clothes so he could “inspect her skin.”

He then allegedly took pictures of her and moved her legs apart during the examination.

Police will allege that during their third session he again asked her to get naked for more photos before drugging her with laughing gas.

Farag then allegedly touched her breasts, moved his fingers around her vagina and inner thighs, then lay down next to her on the bed and began sucking her right nipple, according to court documents.

Police allege the woman ‘panicked’ and jumped away, causing Farag to fall to the ground – before noticing he had also taken off his shirt.

Farag allegedly apologized repeatedly and left the room, after which the woman put on her clothes and left the clinic.

The next day she reported the alleged incident to the police.

According to court documents, he also told her during one of the sessions that he would give her payments and free dental work if she wrote good Google reviews about his company.

The family’s Rockdale dental clinic is now listed online as permanently closed, with Farag banned from practicing dentistry – operating any other business service – as part of his bail conditions.

He may also not be involved in hiring, training or interviewing staff.

The Health Practitioner Regulation Agency has also formally suspended Farag’s medical registration.

Since Farag’s arrest, the Bay Street business has closed its website, which was once full of rave reviews.

On the page, the Farags wrote that they were “most passionate” about the well-being of their patients and “pay special attention to your needs with the desire to create the best-suited solution for you.”

“Building a relationship of trust with you is important to us,” according to their About Us page.

“We strive to exceed your expectations by providing unparalleled service, paying attention to detail and demonstrating a passion for excellence.”

Farag has been charged with using an intoxicating substance to commit a criminal offense and aggravated sexual touching.

He is due to appear in Sydney Downing Center Local Court on December 17.
