Rock band The View’s comeback performance ends in an onstage brawl when the singer tries to punch the bassist

Well, they said play the hits! Rock band The View’s comeback performance ends in an onstage brawl when the singer slaps the bassist and shouts, “I’m going to kill you!”

This is the shocking moment when rock band The View’s long-awaited comeback turned into a brawl on stage – when the singer punched the bassist and yelled “I’m gonna kill you.”

Fan Jason Daniels was stunned when the Scottish band – who reached number three on the charts in 2007 with their hit Same Jeans – had to cut short their gig at the Deaf Institute in Manchester last night.

The 39-year-old claims he saw a fight between frontman Kyle Falconer and bassist Kieren Webster before the latter kicked a microphone stand.

His shocking footage then shows Kyle appearing to throw a punch as others try to break them up.

The furious frontman even follows the swing by shouting ‘I’ll f***ing kill you’.

A second clip shows Kyle returning to the stage after a break to sing some acoustic numbers addressing the incident.

He said, ‘If you want, I think you should ask Kieran to come up and finish the set. The problem with this band is that he wants to sing the songs and he can’t.’

Daniel says the packed Deaf Institute was stunned during the brawl, but the chatter was about whether they would get their money back if they left.

The father-of-three admits he was disappointed not to see the complete set of one of his favorite bands, but claims the incident was “real rock ‘n’ roll.”

His video has been viewed more than 300,000 times on Twitter.

Daniel, from Sale, Greater Manchester, said: ‘It was real rock and roll. Kyle just turned around. It was your typical playground fight.

‘I was surprised by it. I’ve been to gigs in the past where things happened, but nothing like that.

“It was bittersweet because we missed half the performance, so I was half pissed off, but then I thought ‘we saw something mental there.’

‘I don’t know if we’ll get our money back. I don’t worry about it, but people were talking about it.’

Daniel says the incident happened after bassist Kieren traded with Kyle to be the lead singer for a few songs and it was when Kieren walked back to his old position that he kicked the mic.

The home improvement company’s executive has seen The View more than 10 times since 2006 and says the incident won’t stop him from being a fan.

One shocked commenter said: ‘I think I’ll stop buying tickets then..’

Jason replied, “Perhaps sensible!”

Another joked, “Then you have a good old take on that.”

Representatives from The View have been contacted for comment.
