Rock band Queen top the definitive all-time list of artists Britons would most like to see live, according to a new poll.

Researchers polled the country’s music fans to discover the acts past and present we’d like to see live.

Queen, led by the late great Freddie Mercury, came out on top with 37 percent of people voting for them – beating The Beatles into second place.

The band was formed in London in 1970 by singer Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and bassist John Deacon.

Respondents were given a list of artists from Bob Marley to Lady Gaga, Amy Winehouse to The Police, and selected all the artists they would like to see live.

The Beatles came second in the list, with 27 percent voting for them as an act they would like to see on stage.

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran came third in the list with a quarter of Britons (25 percent).

Adele, who just extended her residency at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, finished in fifth place with 24 percent.

Elvis was sixth in the poll with 23 percent.

Overall, a whopping 84 percent of the 2,000 surveyed by the O2 Priority Tickets platform agreed that watching live music is one of life’s greatest pleasures.

When asked what they like most about live music, 66 percent said the atmosphere, 55 percent said it was a unique experience and 52 percent said it’s the best way to make memories.

Overall, 64 percent said they would like to cut back on other costs in the current climate to ensure they can still watch live entertainment.
