Rochelle Humes confirms her future on This Morning… after Phillip Schofield’s affair scandal

Rochelle Humes took to her Instagram earlier this week to give fans an update on her future for This Morning after the Phillip Schofield scandal came to light.

The former Saturday star, 34, took to Instagram to shed light on whether she’s returning to the ITV morning chat show amid the current drama.

It comes after fans of the star continued to speculate about whether she would return, as they hadn’t seen Rochelle on the ITV show since April.

Since 2013, Rochelle has regularly stepped in to co-host the show while the main presenters have been away.

However, after April, fans were quick to wonder where Rochelle was since she didn’t appear on the show.

Meanwhile, Holly Willoughby did not mention Rochelle’s name in a speech she gave on the show, which featured the names of a range of presenters on This Morning.

Rochelle took to her Instagram this week to give fans an update on her future on the show in a candid Q&A.

And during one of her “Ask me Anything” sessions, a fan asked Rochelle, “Are you still going to host This Morning?”

To which Rochelle simply confirmed ‘Yes, I’ll be back in the summer…’

Rochelle last hosted This Morning in April, just weeks before Phillip quit the show.

In May, Phillip admitted to having an affair with a much younger man, who worked with him on This Morning, and later lied about it.

In a bombshell statement to the Daily Mail, the veteran TV presenter admitted that he and the man had begun a relationship that was more than just a friendship. The ex-TV presenter described it as “unwise but not illegal.”

Philip further confessed to lying to his employer ITV, to his colleagues, his friends and his agents at the management firm YMU.

He also lied to The Mail on Sunday, the Daily Mail’s sister newspaper, which first exclusively described his relationship with the younger man in May.

In his fawning apology, he said: “I am making this statement through the Daily Mail, to whom I have already personally apologized for misleading, through my lawyer whom I have also misled, about a story [sic] that they wanted to write about me a few days ago.

“The first thing I want to say is, I am deeply sorry that I lied to them and to many others about a relationship I had with someone who worked on This Morning. I did have a consensual on and off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning.

Contrary to speculation, while I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him get on television, it wasn’t until after he started working on the show that it became more than just a friendship. That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It’s over now…

“I am painfully aware that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore to the public and especially my family.

“I’m very sorry, just like being unfaithful to my wife…

“I resign from ITV with immediate effect and express my immense gratitude to them for all the wonderful opportunities they have given me.

“I will reflect on my very poor judgment in both participating in the relationship and then lying about it.”

The Mail is aware of the younger man’s identity but has chosen not to name him.
