Robin Windsor’s ex Marcus Collins celebrates engagement to boyfriend Colm Tracey – just one month after the tragic death of Strictly star

Marcus Collins has announced the happy news that he is engaged to his boyfriend Colm Tracey.

The X Factor star, 35, took to Instagram on Friday to share the happy news as he shared a series of snaps celebrating the occasion with his fiancée and family and friends.

Marcus popped the champagne and wrote, “I’d like to make a toast” with a ring emoji.

The news comes a month after Marcus’ ex-boyfriend Robin Windsor died unexpectedly in February at the age of 44.

Details of how the Strictly star died have not yet been revealed, but he spoke openly about his struggles with his mental health and had been in a dark place before leaving London and delayed his return.

After Robin’s passing was announced, Marcus took to Instagram to share a montage of photos with the dancer.

He captioned the photos: ‘The world has become a lot less sparkling. Robin You were so loved.’

He started his next exciting chapter with his boyfriend Colm, sharing a video of the couple enjoying a huge bottle of champagne as they celebrated their engagement with friends and family, including Little Mix star Jade Thirwall.

Robin and Marcus started dating after the singer contacted the dancer to compliment his physique after being on the cover of Gay Times.

Robin explained at the time: ‘Marcus tweeted me to say: “You look really good, well done!”

‘We had first met at ITV studios a few years ago, when I passed Marcus in the hallway and asked for a photo because he was very handsome.

‘From then on there was no contact at all until I appeared on the GT cover.

‘After my last relationship ended, I was in recovery and on the warpath, thinking: I need to find a boyfriend.

“Deborah Meaden told me to get myself together, focus on work, forget about men and enjoy life. As soon as I did, Marcus came over.”

Sadly, their relationship didn’t go that far, but the couple had already discussed wedding plans and revealed they wanted to tie the knot in a Downton Abbey-style castle or a British estate.

Robin was laid to rest at a private funeral last week as Strictly Come Dancing’s Janette Manrara and Anton Du Beke joined former Strictly contestant Susanna Reid to pay their last respects to the professional dancer.

The funeral was held in his home town of Ipswich with his close family, friends and colleagues during the intimate service, which lasted an hour.

Guests were asked to hold a rainbow umbrella to celebrate his “colorful life” and the service was said to include “emotional and beautiful dance performances.”

Other celebrities in attendance included Deborah Meaden, Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley, Karen Hauer and her boyfriend Simon Davidson.

Robin’s portrait was printed behind a flood of songs, poems and eulogies about the order of service held by the guests.

One guest told MailOnline: ‘It was so sad. Robin should be on a cruise in South Africa with his dancer partner Gordana Grandiose, but here we all are at his funeral. ‘

A family statement said: ‘The funeral will be a private service for invited family, friends and colleagues who were important to Robin in both his personal life and his professional career.

‘In the meantime, we thank everyone again for the love and shared memories of Robin.

‘As a family we would also like to ask that no further disturbing speculation takes place. We thank you for respecting our continued privacy during this difficult time.”
