The event was hosted by Deray Davis and LeToya Luckett, 42, who arrived in a gorgeous blue ombre dress.

Luckett’s platinum blonde pixie haircut was accentuated by cascading diamond earrings as she posed alongside 41-year-old Latavia Roberson.

The pair were founding members of the multiplatinum R&B girl group Destiny’s Child, but they were soon pushed out of the group in 1999 after the success of their second album The Writing’s on the Wall.

Luckett and Roberson served as backing vocalists for Kelly Rowland and Beyonce, and soon found themselves at odds with Beyonce’s father—and the group’s manager—Mathew Knowles, who replaced them with Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin.

The split resulted in a wave of lawsuits, leading LeToya and Latvia to form their own short-lived girl group called Anjel.

Another member of the girl group, Sevyn Streeter, who is best known for her work with TG4 and RichGirl, joined them in the Black Music Honors.

Streeter, 36, looked stunning in a breathtaking dress that paired a leather bodice with a khaki feathered train.

R&B girl group SWV – which stands for ‘Sisters with Voices’ – appeared in chic black ensembles to be honored at the event.
