Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski became only the third player to score 100 goals in the Champions League when he opened the scoring for the Catalan giants against Brest.
The 36-year-old successfully converted the tenth-minute penalty to give Hansi Flick’s side a 1-0 lead against European Cup debutants on Tuesday evening.
The strike saw the Polish star join Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the only footballers to reach triple figures in Europe’s premier competition.
The striker’s first goal in the competition came in a 3-1 defeat to Olympiacos in 2011, while playing for Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund. He scored seventeen goals for the side before moving to Bayern Munich in 2014.
Lewandowski enjoyed a prolific spell in Bavaria, scoring 77 times in the Champions League and helping the Bundesliga giants claim their sixth European Cup in 2020.
The striker’s historic century includes six hat-tricks and two occasions when he found the net four times, against Real Madrid and Red Star.
