Robert Irwin the influencer! TV star goes from milestone Gold Logie nomination to flogging meal prep in cringe new advertising campaign

Robert Irwin has announced his surprise new career move, just weeks after securing a milestone nomination for the prestigious Gold Logie.

The 20-year-old conservationist has been making waves on screen since his debut as presenter of I’m A Celebrity Australia, making history as the youngest star to earn a Gold Logie nomination.

Now, however, he has announced an unlikely new career move away from television, branching out into product influencer and the face of a new campaign.

The presenter shared images of herself on Instagram on Monday in a new campaign for meal delivery service HelloFresh.

In the paid promotion, Robert can be seen talking to a number of animals at Australia Zoo in Queensland, while promoting the service.

Robert, who has recently been criticised for not being vegan despite being a conservationist, explained how one change to meal plans can ‘add fish to a vegetarian dish’.

“HelloFresh has made planning meals for the whole family as easy for us humans as it is for you,” Robert tells Albie the echidna.

He is then depicted promoting the service and jokingly telling his zoo animals about the various benefits of subscribing.

Robert Irwin (pictured) is capitalizing on his newfound Gold Logie nominee status by expanding his career as a produce influencer. The famed conservationist, 20, took to Instagram on Monday to share footage of him in a new campaign for HelloFresh

He co-hosts the Hello Fresh AU campaign alongside YouTuber Natalie Tran, NRL star Beau Ryan, Paralympic athlete Dylan Alcott and comedian Ed Kavalee.

Many of Robert’s followers took to the comments to express their amusement at the new ad.

“The gaffes are gold!” wrote Terri Irwin, Robert’s mother, while another fan added: “Can all ads be like this?”

His move into advertising came after it was revealed that he was raking in a lot of money by signing several lucrative presenting contracts, each earning him hundreds of thousands of dollars.

He is one of Australia’s most in-demand talents and currently presents Channel Ten’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia and is the face of a tourism campaign in QLD.

“Robert can now basically name his price for his work. His brand, both as a TV talent and advertising influencer, is incredibly popular,” an insider told New Idea magazine.

Robert was the ‘heavy favourite’ to win the Gold Logie at the 64th annual TV Week Logie Awards on August 18, but missed out on the prize to Channel Seven presenter Larry Emdur.

The milestone nomination earned him a nomination for the night’s biggest award, along with a number of TV veterans, including his I’m A Celebrity co-host Julia Morris.

In addition to his success on television, he has also been increasingly involved in advertising. He earned $200,000 to appear in a one-minute commercial for Twisties. He also earned a similar amount to participate in a tourism campaign in Queensland, along with Bluey.

In May, he joined forces with drummer G Flip for the Twisties campaign, but not all fans were happy about it. Many criticized the cringe-worthy commercial.

The commercial featured Robert advocating for Twisties’ chicken flavour, while G Flip went into the ultimate battle for cheese.

But the light-hearted clip sparked a lot of criticism in the comments on the post shared on Roberts’ Instagram page.

Some fans noted that they were surprised that Robert isn’t vegan, considering he’s a conservationist.

“I’m honestly surprised you’re not a vegan or at the very least a vegetarian @robertirwinphotography, someone who loves and cares about animals just as you should care about the animals in the meat industry,” one person said.
