Robert Irwin stuns fans as he reveals shock new TV career after teen star is called ‘sexy’ by female fans

Robert Irwin joins the Sunrise cast as a guest weatherman on Thursday.

The 19-year-old nature warrior takes over from regular presenter and new father Sam Mac, who will be on personal leave.

Robert looked more than comfortable in the pre-show preview to tease his looks.

“You’re in for a blast of a morning,” Robert said in the ad.

Robert has previously filled in as a weatherman on Sunrise, which has led to a playful feud between him and Sam.

On the Channel 7 show last month, Sam took another swipe at Robert, jokingly fearing the nature warrior wants to take over his job.

Sam did a hilarious dig while visiting Maleny Botanic Gardens & Bird World on the Sunshine Coast and provided the weather update.

Sam played with some birds and was proud of his skills after two large colorful birds perched on his right arm.

He told one of the employees, “I don’t know if you’re keeping up, but Robert Irwin is trying to take my job.

“But I feel like this almost surpasses Robert Irwin.”

Sunrise presenters Nat Barr and Matt Shirvington, who watched the clip from Channel 7 studios, were amused by the comment, but disagreed that his stunt with the birds was as impressive as Robert’s work.

In response to his claim, Nat asked, “Do you think?” while Matt added, “Not really crocodiles, right?”

Sunrise viewers have been playfully calling for the son of the late Steve Irwin to take the weatherman’s job.

Sam recently shared a hilarious photo on his Instagram of a fan, Tara, holding up a sign that read, “Robert Irwin 4 Weatherman.”

He posed with the grinning woman and pretended to appear furious at her demand as she put an arm around him and proudly showed her placard.

Sam wrote in the caption next to the comedic photo, “Thanks, Tara. #Nemesis.’

The friends have kindly challenged each other for the coveted position, with the conflict coming to a head only a few weeks ago.

Sam took a cheeky swipe at Robert last month when they chatted on The Morning Show.

While Robert discussed his dangerously close encounter with a python in a recent video, he revealed that Sam too has had “a few close calls” with the snakes at Australia Zoo.

Sam didn’t hold back when he replied, “The only snake I met Robert with was you when you tried to take over my job at Sunrise Weather.

“You were a snake in the grass that day,” he added.

“Yeah mate, I’m still looking for that position,” he added. ‘Watch out. I have not forgotten.’
