Robert Irwin gave a hilarious account on Tuesday of the first time he accidentally got ‘drunk’ while presenting at the 2018 Logies ceremony in Sydney.
The 20-year-old reality TV presenter, who is nominated for a Gold Logie at this year’s upcoming Awards, revealed that the hilarious mishap happened after he ate some sweets without realising they contained alcohol.
“I had this gift package and there was a big package of chocolates in it. My mom says, ‘Oh, there you have it. You have chocolates, a little bit of sugar,'” Irwin said. news.com.au.
‘So I’m eating these chocolates and I’m thinking, are they expired? Mom says, “Yes, they’re expired.” And then she says, “Oh no, they’re alcoholic chocolates.”‘
Irwin said he was still feeling the effects of alcohol when he took to the Logies stage to present an award alongside Dr Chris Brown.
‘I don’t drink at all, and I was 14 at the time. So I go up on stage and I think: now I have to present this award… That’s my memorable Logies story.’
Fortunately, Robert managed to hold his own on stage against Chris and presented with his characteristic enthusiasm and flair.
Following the reports, Irwin is the ‘heavy favourite’ to win this year’s Gold Logie at the 64th annual TV Week Logie Awards on August 18.

And he will invite one very special guest to share in this monumental moment.
Sources have told Ny Breaking Australia that the famed conservationist will be joined by his mother and Irwin family matriarch Terri, despite recent criticism from fans who believe the pair are “inseparable”.
Producers of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, which Robert co-hosts with Julia Morris, are said to be concerned that the presence of his 60-year-old mother on his arm could be “a huge blow to his loyal fans”.

“The son of the late Steve Irwin is perhaps Australia’s most talked about ‘bachelor’ in the TV industry and everyone knows he wouldn’t have a hard time landing a date, so his decision seems a little odd,” the insider said.
‘He told I’m A Celebrity producers that he plans to celebrate the evening with his mother, who is his biggest supporter.’
The question of who Robert would choose to sit on his arm at the Logies this year was widely debated by industry insiders, as most visitors are not allowed to bring guests.
However, it appears Robert is planning to give up that coveted guest seat to his mother, who also accompanied him to South Africa and was on set when he filmed I’m A Celebrity for Network Ten this year.
