Robert Downey Jr.’s Huge Fortune Revealed From Starring in Marvel Movies

Robert Downey Jr’s massive fortune playing Iron Man in Marvel movies is REVEALED, after the actor cemented his comeback with the iconic role.

Robert Downey Jr’s astonishing fortune playing Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been revealed.

The 57-year-old actor, worth $66 million, earned critical acclaim for playing Tony Stark in a series of films from 2008 to 2019, before his character tragically died in Avengers: Endgame.

When Robert landed the role of Tony Stark, many fans were convinced the film would be a flop, given Marvel’s poor track record of adaptations in the past.

However, it was a huge success and launched the ever-expanding Marvel Universe, which includes the Avengers film series.

The role of Robert also kicked off his own comeback in Hollywood, after he battled drug addiction and was sentenced to 180 days in prison for failing to attend a court-ordered drug test.

Marvel took a gamble by casting Robert as Iron Man, at the time he was struggling in the wake of his drug scandal, which got him fired from Ally McBeal in 2001.

He continued a full court-ordered drug treatment program and has been clean and sober since 2003.

Robert was paid just $2.5m (£2m) for the 2008 film, and it was a smash hit grossing $585m (£485m), earning him critical acclaim for his portrayal of the hero.

Four years later, Robert earned more than $50 million (£41.5 million) from the first Avengers film and also took home a percentage of the $1.5 billion (£1.2 billion) of box office earnings from the film, making him the highest-paid actor in Hollywood for 2013.

Robert then earned another $75 million over the next two years thanks to his roles in Iron Man 3 and Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

He earned an estimated $33 million (£27.4m) in 2016 as the face of the MCU, appearing in the movie Captain America: Civil War that year.

The following year, he earned his biggest payout yet, $48m (£39m), reprising his role as Tony Stark in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Robert went to win a mind blowing eye $81m (£67m) in 2018 while starring in the first part of the Marvel Avengers: Infinity War Phase Three epic, including a share of the film’s $2bn (£1.6bn) box office earnings.
