Drena De Niro-Rodriguez, daughter of Robert De Niro, posted a series of pictures on Instagram Tuesday as she visited the grave of her late son Leandro De Niro-Rodriguez, who died more than three months ago at the age of 19 from a drug overdose. .
Drena, the 52-year-old actress, model and DJ, who is the adopted daughter of the Oscar winner and his ex-wife Diana Abbott, was pictured with a friend visiting her son’s grave where she left flowers.
In the caption of the post, she talked about the intense feelings of grief she’s experiencing following the July 2 death of her child, which occurred after he consumed counterfeit oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl.
“If everyone appreciated the depth of love and grief, one could feel that I don’t believe we would have wars, we wouldn’t hurt children, animals, each other our planet and our oceans the way we do,” Drena said.
Drena said her heart is broken for herself, her loved ones ‘and everyone who has ever lost a child or someone they loved so deeply’.

Drena shared a series of photos from her somber day at the cemetery, including one of a rock with a heart with wings and the words: “To Leo, we love you.” The world misses you.’
She captioned the clip (in Italian) “Mi manchi motto molto, il mio amore, mio cuore, Leo,” which translates to English as “I miss you so much, my love, my heart, Leo.”
In another picture of a tomb with flowers, she wrote: ‘I love you sweet boy.’
On August 11, Drena paid tribute to Leandro on his 20th birthday. She wrote next to a carousel of 10 photos: “He would have been 20 years old today.
‘Thank you for the happiest and deepest 2 decades of my life, little angel. I hope you are at peace and your spirit is filled with joy today and always. 8~11~03 – 7~2~23.’
Leandro was found dead in his New York apartment on July 2; A woman named Sophia Haley Marks, 20, is accused of selling him drugs containing fentanyl – a powerful opioid said to be up to 50 times stronger than heroin.
Leandro died from a toxic mixture fentanyl, bromazolam, alprazolam, 7-aminoclonazepam, ketamine and cocaine, according to medical records obtained from TMZ.

However, he never responded and was found dead on July 2.
Investigators found “one bag of cocaine, one straw with residue, two blue pills with ‘M’ and ’30’ (Oxycodone) and seven rectangular pills – believed to be Xanax” on the table next to Leandro after his death.
Drena previously claimed her son died after taking fentanyl pills.
In a post on Instagram, she stated, “Someone sold him fentanyl pills that he knew were laced, but he sold them to him anyway.”
