Rob Gronkowski falls victim to hilarious prank by Fox NFL crew
Rob Gronkowski conducted himself gracefully while being the victim of a prank from the Fox NFL Sunday crew.
In a video posted by NFL on Fox, the former tight end’s facial expression reflected the questions in his mind during what he thought was a live segment before a Cowboys-Bills game.
The premise of the joke was for Jay Glazer to break the news that the Cowboys have activated fictional tight end “Rich Russo.” As the team began exchanging analysis on Russo’s impact on the game, Gronkowski looked around in silence.
After Curt Menefee relayed the question to Gronkowski, he took the information and said, “He’s been away for a while, so he might be a little rusty when he comes back.”
‘But they got it too [Jake] Ferguson too, it’s going to be a one-two punch,” he added before trying to spark the made-up player’s conversation.
The Fox NFL Sunday crew fooled Rob Gronkowski in what he thought was a live segment
“Ferguson has shown that he is the right guy,” Gronkowski said. “They’re going to feed the ball to Ferguson.”
The crew started to break character and the laughter boiled over after Gronkowski made a comment about his catching ability.
“He’s the only guy in the league missing two fingers on his right hand,” Terry Bradshaw said of Russo. “That’s why he’s been away, but now he’s back.”
“Does that affect him if he gets a pass?” Gronkowski responded, turning up her volume slightly. “I don’t know if I have all five fingers left.”
The crew then revealed the prank and Russo’s false existence before Gronkowski laughed at being ridiculed by his colleagues.
“You guys made my head spin, that’s for sure,” Gronkowski said. ‘I learned two things from it; that I’m a funny guy, and number two is that I’m always ready.
