Chris Dobey couldn't quite believe what was happening when he dropped a commanding lead

Cross had recovered from 8-2 down to beat Dobey 11-9 in the 2022 Betfred World Matchplay in Blackpool.

Cross told Sky Sports afterwards: 'Four-nil down, I didn't really play. I missed a few opportunities early and didn't feel like myself. But towards the end it was 'persevere, persevere.'

'It's all about me and I still believed in it even when I was 4-0 down. I had one of the biggest comebacks against Chris in the Matchplay, so I might as well do it in the World Cup. I have nerves of steel!'
