Latest update: The CW has given premiere and end dates for its popular and long-running series Riverdale, which is coming to an end this spring.

Since it was renewed for the next installment, executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has used social networks to show behind-the-scenes content.

In October, she uploaded a photo of Lili Reinhart, who plays Betty Cooper, and Vanessa Morgan, who plays Tori Topaz.

They were dressed in full costume on set as he wrote in the caption: “Every ending has a beginning.” The seventh season of #Riverdale began filming today. With these two beautiful dreamers leading the charge into the dark heart of the fifties.

Days later, he shared a photo of Cole Sprouse on a monitor filming a scene wearing a navy blue ribbed sweater with a red S on it.

It was subtitled, ‘Season Seven “S” Sweater. Jughead is my fashion icon now and forever. One week into shooting, and I LOVE the 1950s! And I think/hope you will too!!!’

Picking up where season six left off, Cole’s character, Jughead Jones, appears stuck in the ’50s in the plot of season seven.

Also returning to the beloved show are series regulars Camila Mendes, Lili Reinhart and KJ Apa.

Jones is completely confused, having no trace of how he ended up in the time warp as his friends don’t know of a life beyond his present.

Meanwhile, Apa’s Archie Andrews is “coming of age, getting into trouble, and learning life lessons.”

It’s happening! Executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared a photo of Cole Sprouse on a monitor filming a season seven scene wearing a navy blue ribbed sweater with a red S on it.

Reinhart’s Betty Cooper is curious about her seemingly perfect life and begins to question her overbearing mother Alice, played by Madchen Amick.

Camila’s Veronica Lodge is a Tinseltown sensation who arrived on the Riverdale scene with details unknown.

The hit series, created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, is a dark take on the classic Archie Comics that debuted in 1941.

It was announced last May that the show would culminate with a seventh season this spring.

The synopsis for the show reads, “As they navigate the troubled waters of romance, school, and family, Archie and his gang become entangled in the dark mysteries of Riverdale.”

Riverdale became a huge hit for The CW after debuting in 2017 and ratings skyrocketed in the second season after it aired on Netflix, leading to a 30 percent increase in viewership.

The CW Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz told reporters last year: “I’m a big believer in giving long-running shows a proper send-off.”

“We want to make sure it comes out the right way.”

Pedowitz also said that he and Aguirre-Sacasa had a conversation earlier and agreed that ending the series after seven seasons felt right.

Last month Camila took Tik Tok to share vulnerable thoughts about the end of the show.

“Every once in a while I realize that this crazy ride I’ve been on for the past seven years ends in June, which is also the month I’ll be turning 29,” she wrote.

He continued candidly: “I basically experienced my entire 20 years on Riverdale. I don’t know what adulthood is like without this show as a host.

“I imagine it will feel like when people walk out of long-term relationships having completely forgotten how to operate in life as individuals. Will he have an identity crisis? It is probable!’
