A married mother of three is suing Ritz-Carlton after a male employee at the luxury Half Moon Bay resort allegedly served her a bottle of water “contaminated with semen.”
“Jane Doe” and her husband had booked a four-night stay at the oceanfront hotel near San Francisco, where rooms start at $800 per night, for a “quiet and indulgent” birthday weekend in November 2022.
But they claim they were left with the ‘horror and trauma of sexual abuse and exploitation’ after a male worker ‘ejaculated’ into their water.
The lawsuit alleges that one of the hotel employees “ejaculated his semen into a water bottle with the Ritz-Carlton label” and delivered it to their room, where Jane drank it before realizing it had been “contaminated by a criminal deviant ‘.
The couple, who have been married for 25 years and have three children, say they have stayed at the resort before and estimate they have spent more than 600 nights at Marriott-branded hotels in their lifetime.

Jane is a housewife and her husband works in marketing. They were visiting their daughter from their home in Washington state.
Their vacation started with “the kind of comfort and seduction you would expect from one of the best-known and most highly regarded luxury hotel brands in the world.”
But things took a turn when the couple returned to their room after dinner on the evening of November 18, 2022, and realized they had run out of water.
Jane says she called the front desk to ask for more and five minutes later a male employee knocked on the door and handed her five bottles of water – she put them on her bedside table and went to sleep.
Later that night she woke up thirsty and grabbed one of the bottles. She took a sip and “immediately knew something was wrong.”
She woke her husband and the couple contacted hotel management.
The lawsuit says, “When Jane Doe discussed the matter with the hotel security and management representatives on duty, she began to realize that the chemical taste she had experienced was similar to that of semen.”

They left the hotel and as time passed, Jane claims she became “more certain that the taste of the fluid… was indeed semen.”

She “was mortified, terrified, embarrassed and humiliated, but shared her suspicions with her husband, who then asked the hotel security and management representatives to call the police.”
Her husband asked the hotel to keep the water bottle for testing, which they did, while a police officer arrived to take statements.
They left the hotel and as time passed, Jane claims she “became more certain that the taste of the fluid…was indeed semen.”
They claim that the hotel “sent the water bottle to a laboratory for analysis” and then, around January 12 this year, a Marriott claims adjuster called to say that tests “showed that the liquid in the water bottle was contaminated with sperm. .’
But since then, they say the hotel has refused to take responsibility or engage with law enforcement, instead only offering the couple “a few measly Marriott rewards points.”
The lawsuit claims that “the Ritz-Carlton and Marriott International refused to turn over the contaminated water bottle,” meaning the DNA cannot be tested and the employee was not caught.
It adds that the “deviant whose sexual proclivity forced people to drink the semen of a man who was not their partner or husband… remains unidentified and uncaptured, and his continued sexual deviance continues unabated.”

Ritz-Carlton did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Javier Acosta told the Mercury News that the department conducted a “welfare check” at the hotel regarding a woman who claimed she was drinking from a bottle of water that tasted like chlorine.
The woman refused medical attention and declined an offer to call a poison control center, Acosta said.
