“I feel like there's no pressure at home, I almost feel like I'm excited. I just want people to see it and say, “Oh, I wonder what Rita's Tequila tastes like.”'
Explaining her motivation for starting her own spirits, she explained, “I looked into the spirits industry a little bit more and I feel like there was really a market or a big space for female bosses who can have their own minds.
'It's usually like wine or Prosecco and I feel like this was such a male-dominated aspect of alcohol that I thought, “Why don't you try and get into this game” and it was a really great opportunity to make.
'I feel like it works really well and everything from the bottle, which is handmade, to the experience I shared making it was just wonderful. So I have the feeling that this project really comes from the heart.'
