Rita Ora flashes her abs in black gym wear as she heads back to her hotel after workout in NYC

Rita Ora made her heart beat faster when she stepped out in New York City on Sunday.

The singer, 32, wowed onlookers as she showed off her abs in black sportswear as she returned to her hotel after a grueling workout.

She paired her look with a baseball cap with an “out of office” motif and framed her face with tortoise shell sunglasses.

Earlier in the day, Rita kept it casual in a khaki sheepskin jacket, black leggings and leather shoes during an outing in SoHo.

With her light brown locks in braids, the former X Factor judge appeared to wear a minimal amount of make-up.

Rita was charmed by her phone while strolling around town with her music manager sister Elena.

It comes after Rita revealed that she had a falling out with her husband Taika Waititi when he was directing her new music video.

The singer released her new single Praising You, a modern update of Fatboy Slim’s 1999 classic Praise You.

A video accompanying the song sees Rita and a troupe of dancers perform for Fatboy Slim and was directed by her Oscar-winning husband.

During an appearance on Heart FM, Rita was asked how she felt about working with him.

She admitted she was warned about it, explaining, “Everyone said, ‘Don’t do it, don’t work with the ones you love, it’ll never work out,’ and I thought, why not?”

Rita continued, “You know what, I really respect him, I really admire his creative contribution and we came up with a fun, not serious video, kind of like the original, just like a random dance party, that’s what this is.’

But when asked if there was any tension, she confessed: “The only thing we argued about was me being late on set because my makeup wasn’t going well, he said, ‘Hurry up, we’re losing light, we are losing light”! I was like “I’m sorry!”‘

Spilling the beans: During an appearance on Heart FM, Rita was asked how she felt about working with him

She added to Apple Music, “I tried calling [filmmaker] Spike Jones. He wasn’t available for the video, man. Taika is good seconds. I mean, I’ll take Taika. I’ll take it.

“It’s so cool to be able to work with the ones you really respect. I really like Taika’s brain. You know what I mean? I really fell in love with that. He teaches me things every day…we lay and we were just hanging out to watch a movie.

“I said, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool to do something like all that jazz and fame?’ And he said, “Look, I’d love that.” And then we came up with the whole idea and boom. We filmed it all in one day in downtown LA.

“It was great to work with him and make this mini-movie because it really is a mini-movie. And have Norman [Cook] also in the video was a very good idea.’

Elsewhere in her chat with Apple Music, Rita talked about being calmer and in a better headspace now that she’s in her 30s.

She mused, “I call them the messy 20s because sometimes I think with those mistakes we wouldn’t be who we are today.”

“And I’m at a point in my life where I feel so content and I feel like I really want to share that comfort with my fans and I want people to feel safe when they hear my music. I want people to feel free.

‘I really want to try to spread that feeling of certainty. You know what I mean? Especially now more than ever. It feels good to have something to write about.

“It just started as a little diary and it has turned into this love story for my fans and also for anyone who wants to feel a little bit of that.”
