Rita Ora announces she will perform at the closing ceremony of Prince Harry’s Invictus Games in Düsseldorf

It has been announced that Rita Ora will perform at the closing ceremony of Prince Harry’s Invictus Games 2023.

This year’s tournament will take place in Düsseldorf, Germany, with Rita headlining the closing ceremony on September 16.

Rita is a close friend of the event’s founder, Prince Harry, who is expected to give an emotional speech at the closing ceremony.

The Invictus Games are a multi-sport tournament for wounded, wounded and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans.

Harry was instrumental in bringing the Games to the UK in 2014, when 300 competitors from 13 countries took part in the opening round in London.

Rita and Harry have been friends for years, with the pop star attending Harry’s wedding in 2018.

In a 2019 interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said he was the “cool, fun prince,” adding that she and her friends had grown up wanting to hang out with Prince Harry.

“It’s in our culture, it’s like Prince Harry is untouchable,” she continued. “You know, it’s real.

Rita previously performed in concert in 2019 for Harry’s Sentebale charity.

In a video message recorded at his mansion in Montecito about the upcoming Invictus games, Harry insisted, “It’s going to be the best games ever.”

He also praised competitors for taking the next step on their “healing journey,” insisting that the event, which he called a “home for respect,” be part of his own event.

Grinning into the virtual conversation, he said, “I hope you’re excited and probably a little nervous. I am both. But I can’t wait to see you all and have the whole community back together. It has been too long’.

Addressing the athletes, he said, “You are all on different parts of your healing journey” before adding, “We all are – we always will be.”

Good luck for the remaining weeks, have fun, looking forward to it. Being nervous is a good thing. We have 21 countries this year and can’t wait to have every continent represented. Except Antarctica – but that’s still being worked on,” he said with a laugh.

“Thank you for your service, for your effort, for your determination to get to this point. We’re going to have a lot of fun with it and yes, we’re looking forward to it. We are ready to receive you. It’s going to be the best games ever, the best games yet.”

Harry will reportedly be in Düsseldorf for the entire match. Meghan is expected to attend about half of that, including Harry’s speech at the closing ceremony.
