Lip readers who claim they can perfectly decode even the sparse conversations between celebrities on the red carpet are gaining an enthusiastic following on TikTok.
American lip reader Nina Dellinger, who the New York Times she discovered her lip-reading skills at school after understanding what a classmate was saying across a room despite not hearing a word, and has seen her version of Taylor Swift’s conversation with Phoebe Bridgers at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in March thousands of times .
The clip shows Swift deep in conversation with Bridgers, who presented the Shake it Off star with an award, as they sat in the front row at the high-profile event.
Belize-based lip reader Nina Dellinger decoded a conversation between Taylor Swift and Phoebe Bridgers at the iHeartRadio Awards in March — claiming the Shake it Off star told her friend “[He’s] my type of person, and so it’s so good to have him around full time…so great’.
Dellinger, who now lives in Belize, provides clear audio of what she thinks Swift is saying, claiming the star says to her famous boyfriend, “[He’s] my type of person, and so it’s so good to have him around full time…so great’.
And after J-Lo’s seemingly tense conversation with husband Ben Affleck at this year’s Grammys, hundreds of lip-reading videos surfaced on the social media channel, claiming the singer barked “prove it, prove it” at her husband.
Other clips of the couple, filmed at the release party for her film Shotgun Wedding, also apparently saw Lopez being chastised by Affleck over a glass of wine. Lipreaders claimed he told his wife “Not another one” when they were photographed at the event.

The lip reader told followers she was born with a hearing loss, saying “that’s why I rely a lot on people’s facial expressions, hand movements and their lips.”
She adds the disclaimer that she is not a professional and says her videos are just “for fun.”
It doesn’t stop people from tuning into her work. A clip of Princess Charlotte at the Platinum Jubilee celebration in 2022 saw Kalvoy decode the young royal family’s conversation with her older brother Prince George – and the video has been viewed 11.2 million times.
She claimed that the then seven-year-old asked her brother if she would light up her bracelet and said, “George, can you help light it up?”
Thus, the skills of lip readers are in high demand, many of the comments on such clips contain a deluge of requests to try and decipher other celebrity encounters.
One begs, “Can you please do Gwyneth at her trial?” After she won, she whispered something to the plaintiff, referring to Gwyneth Paltrow’s high-profile civil lawsuit in March 2023.
