Rihanna’s son RZA turns one and dad A$AP Rocky celebrates with a number of sweet family snaps

Rihanna’s firstborn son RZA turned one on Saturday.

The singer’s boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, 34, celebrated the special occasion with some sweet family snaps shared on his Instagram.

The 34-year-old rapper also confirmed that RZA is named after the leader of the Wu-Tang clan, writing in his caption, “WU TANG IZ 4 DA CHUREN,” HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO MY 1st BORN. RZA ❤️

Rocky’s Instagram caption referenced the late Wu member Ol’ Dirty Bastard and his disruptive 1998 Grammy speech — which the rapper also included as a clip between the photos — in which he said, “Wu Tang is for the kids.”

Earlier this week, DailyMail.com revealed that the pop star named her son RZA Athelston Mayers after exclusively obtaining a copy of the little boy’s birth certificate.

One of the adorable snaps saw the hitmaker Praise the Lord — who is currently expecting a second child with the Umbrella singer — hold the little one with one arm and hug Rihanna with the other.

The doting mother stared at her little boy, all three matching sunglasses. Behind them were colorful balloons.

The Barbadian-born star stunned in a black vinyl corset and Louis Vuitton monogrammed skirt.

Meanwhile, her beau rocked a red hat and matched her in a black leather jacket over a blue button up.

Another sweet image saw A$AP taking a picture of the trio in a mirror. Rihanna looked fabulous in a woven dress as she held the little one in her arms.

Two other shots saw the proud parents relaxing on the beach at night. RZA sat on a blanket between them, while Rihanna rocked a white fishnet dress.

Rocky was on the other side in a T-shirt and jeans and an American flag bandana on his head. In another beach shot, Rihana was pictured kissing her beau on the neck.

There was also a shot of Rocky sitting on a few steps watching his son play in a grassy backyard, with Rihanna’s pregnancy bump visible in the form of a shadow.

The loving dad also shared some solo shots with just him and his son.

In one photo, he rocked a white T-shirt while holding a diaper-clad RZA in his arms. Another tender moment saw Rocky show RZA how to shave.

Her baby boy’s name was revealed after the couple kept it a secret for nearly a year.

The child was apparently named in honor of Wu-Tang Clan producer and rapper Robert Fitzgerald Diggs – stage name RZA -.

Rihanna seems to have alluded to her son’s name after his birth on May 13 last year, as she’s worn clothing reflecting the Wu-Tang Clan multiple times since giving birth.

Fans had recently speculated that the little boy might have been named Noah, but there was little evidence of his real name.

Notably, the live birth certificate indicates that RZA was given his father’s middle name, Athelston.

However, Rocky’s middle name has previously been listed as “Athelaston” by multiple outlets.

The live birth certificate also indicates that RZA was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Rihanna revealed that she and Rocky were expecting again when she debuted a new baby bump on Feb. 12 in Glendale, Arizona, during her jaw-dropping Super Bowl halftime performance.

During her stunning performance at the Met Gala with her boyfriend, Rihanna shared with ET that her last pregnant was ‘so different’ from the first. ‘No appetite. Tons of nausea. Everything is different, but I enjoy it,” she explained.

She added that she was “in love” with her smallest. “I’m obsessed and I don’t even feel guilty about it,” she said.

Rihanna is just as tight-lipped about baby number two, and she hasn’t revealed the gender yet.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have been friends and work together for over a decade, and they’ve even attended red carpet events together in recent years, but it wasn’t until late 2020 that they officially became a couple.
