The interviewer then asked who she could bring as a special guest, but the Umbrella singer simply shrugged.

TMZ previously reported that there is a list of 50 potential Super Bowl guest artist names, although it could be almost anyone she’s worked with before.

The singer announced the big news late last month by sharing a photo of her tattooed arm clutching a soccer ball. The post got nearly 700,000 likes in its first 20 minutes, including one from Lizzo, who wrote “screaming.”

The earlier halftime show that aired on February 13 earlier this year – starring Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and Snoop Dogg – drew 103.4 million viewers and won three Creative Arts Emmys.

In 2019, Rihanna turned down the NFL’s offer to headline the halftime show due to San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s kneeling protest against police brutality and racial inequality in the US during the Star-Spangled Banner.

The passage of time may have allayed chart concerns about performing at the Super Bowl.

Rihanna took a break from performing after the birth of her son – who she shares with rapper boyfriend A$AP Rocky, 34 – in May.

She’s talked about putting out new music, but lately she’s been focusing a lot of her time on her Fenty makeup brand and supporting A$AP at its shows.
