Rihanna roasted for ‘horrible’ karaoke performance eight years after her last album: ‘My cat can sing better!’
Rihanna has been roasted by fans for an ‘awful’ karaoke performance in New York City.
The Rude Boy hitmaker, 36, performed at the Girls love karaoke event on Sunday, with clips of the evening going viral on social media.
The mother-of-two – whose last album was released in 2016 – was criticized for her singing after performing her hits ‘Needed Me’ and ‘Sex With Me’.
‘Is this really Rihanna? My cat can sing better,” one person wrote on Twitter in response to the billionaire musician’s performance.
“The microphone was bleeding,” another added.
A third commenter wondered: ‘has this been edited, this sounds awful.’

Rihanna fueled rumors of her retirement in the music world last month when she gave a speech about God having “other plans” for her career.
“Music was the thing that attracted attention, but God had other plans for me,” she said at an event in early November.
Despite teasing a 2019 music release, the Savage X Fenty designer has prioritized her lingerie and cosmetics brands.
In August, it was reported that the singer was finally ready to release her highly anticipated ninth studio album.
Rihanna’s legion of fans have been clamoring for new music from the hitmaker since the release of her eighth studio album, Anti, in 2016.
Since the release of that album – which scored some of the best reviews of her career – Rihanna has largely focused on running and promoting her successful cosmetics and lingerie companies, as well as devoting time to her romance with rapper A$AP Rocky.

They claimed that Rihanna had recorded songs with “a lot of different people” in recent years, including collaborators Alesso and Diplo.
The singer-songwriter is said to have flitted between multiple genres as she tried to create her sound, though fans may never hear her experiments.
“She’s gone from pop to reggae to hip-hop and everything in between,” the source continued. “But because she wants it to sound fresh, and because of Rihanna’s position in her life, pretty much everything has been cut.”
They noted that some songs had been “reworked” and reused for the final version of the album, “but the majority were completely canned when she went back to the drawing board earlier this year.”

Rihanna’s return to music follows her partner A$AP Rocky’s fourth album Don’t Be Dumb, due out on August 30 this year.
