Rihanna debuts bold new hairstyle just DAYS ahead of Met Gala… after teasing she would be going for a ‘simple’ look for this year’s NYC soiree

Rihanna debuted a bold new hairstyle just days before this year’s Met Gala.

The 36-year-old singer showed off her striking bright pink locks as she modeled a casual ensemble and stepped out in New York City.

She was last seen with her hair in a straight, honey blonde style last Friday at her Fenty Beauty’s new product launch event in Los Angeles.

She left her long, luscious locks down to show off the bouncy curls that flowed in the wind.

This comes after she confirmed she would be attending fashion’s biggest night and would be going for a ‘simple’ look for this year’s Sleeping Beauties theme.

To contrast her striking hair, the Fenty Beauty founder opted for an understated all-black ensemble.

For her outing, she donned a zip-up hoodie, layered under a leather jacket and paired with baggy sweatpants.

Like her hair, she stood out against her casual, dark ensemble and wore a pair of bubble gum pink rubber shoes.

To match her outfit, she carried a black leather, woven handbag in her hand.

She also covered her eyes while wearing oversized, rectangular sunglasses.

She paired it with small stud earrings and a dainty tennis chain for a bit of bling.

Presumably for the Met Gala, she also rocked a bright manicure to match her statement hair.

The entrepreneur also appeared to be bareheaded and wearing no makeup as she showed off her natural, radiant beauty.

Her new bubblegum locks could be a wig as she hides her Met Gala hairstyle ahead of the annual star-studded event.

Just last week, the nine-time Grammy winner confirmed that she would be attending the highly anticipated event this year.

During an interview with Additionalshe also gave a subtle hint about the look she would be going for this year.

She told the outlet she would be doing a “simple” look for the Costume Institute’s new exhibit, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” and the official dress code is “The Garden of Time.”

“I’m actually keeping it really simple this year… It’s all about what my makeup is going to do and what my hair is going to do,” the Umbrella singer said.

Rihanna also added that she has narrowed her options down to two dresses.

“Very simple… compared to everything I’ve done, I’m coming to eat!” she joked.

She also revealed how her style has changed since becoming a mother. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcomed their first son, RZA, in May 2022, and their second son, Riot, 15 months later.

“When you become a mother, your style goes from ‘blah’ to ‘let’s see what fits’ to ‘I’m going to be a bad bitch today.’

“Sometimes you have to remind yourself that you’re still here.”

The busy mom said she will take some time for herself on Mother’s Day.

“Sleep, hopefully… sleep, and maybe I’ll get a bouquet of flowers…” she revealed about her plans.

“No matter what I do for our moms, they really deserve the spotlight on Mother’s Day this year… They’re literally holding it back right now while I’m here and Rocky is out of town.”

The mother of two then addressed the ever-lingering curiosity surrounding her upcoming music.

“It’s going to be amazing,” she told the outlet.

‘It has to be – that’s the only reason it’s not out yet. If I don’t feel it and I don’t feel like it represents the evolution and the time I’ve spent, there should be a sign of growth…’

Rihanna released her last album Anti in 2016.

In the eight years since, she has released three songs for film soundtracks and nine feature films.

“I want to play with it and have fun with it and show where I’m at,” she said of the new music.
