Rihanna beats Taylor Swift on Forbes’ America’s Richest Self-Made Women list
Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and Reese Witherspoon made it Forbes’ America’s Richest Self-Made Women List, a compilation of the most successful female entrepreneurs, executives and entertainers in the United States.
Rihanna, 35, is the most successful self-made woman in music on the list, beating Taylor to land at 20th with a net worth of $1.4 billion.
Swift, 33, the second most successful artist on the list, ranks number 34 with a net worth of $740 million.
While Rihanna has surpassed Taylor, Forbes attributes the source of her wealth to two different income streams: her music and cosmetics empire, Fenty Beauty. Taylor’s music is listed as her source of wealth.
The highly successful Pon de Replay singer is a co-owner of Fenty Beauty with French luxury retailer LVMH. Last year, Fenty Beauty’s turnover doubled. She also has a 30% stake in the lingerie line Savage x Fenty, and in 2021 the company was valued at $1 billion.

Reality star turned businesswoman Kim, 42, closely follows Rihanna at number 21, with a net worth of $1.2 billion.
The social media sensation derives her income from her shapewear company SKIMS and skincare line.
Most of her wealth comes from her interest in her shapewear business.
As for Reese, the multi-hyphenated entertainer comes in at #59 with a net worth of $440 million.
According to Forbes, she is the richest actress in the world and reportedly earned $20 million for starring in just 10 episodes of her hit series The Morning Show.
Madonna, 64, landed at #45 with $580 million, while Beyonce, 41, landed at #48 with $540 million.
Beyonce, who branched out into fashion with her Ivy Park line, derives most of her wealth from her career as a solo singer and time with Destiny’s Child.
Even Kim’s younger sister Kylie Jenner, 25, made the list. She is ranked number 38 with a net worth of $680 million.

Most of Celine’s wealth comes from her successful residencies in Las Vegas.
Barbra Streisand, 81, also made the list at number 61 with a net worth of $430 million. On top of her amazing musical success, the EGOT winner owns a compound in Malibu that could be worth around $80 million.

Oprah Winfrey, 69, ranked number 13 with a net worth of $2.5 billion, while Ellen DeGeneres, 65, landed at number 73 with $380 million.
