Ricky Pearsall is seen in horrifying new images seconds after NFL rookie was shot for his Rolex in San Francisco

San Francisco 49ers rookie Ricky Pearsall was spotted walking away from a failed robbery attempt in Union Square on Saturday.

As seen in a video shared by KTVU’s Zak Sos on X, the injured Pearsall was carried by emergency workers to a waiting ambulance, where he was placed on a stretcher. Pearsall moved slowly during the footage, which was shot from across the street. He did not appear overly distressed.

According to Mayor London Breed, the 23-year-old curator is now in stable condition and a suspect has been arrested.

KGO-TV’s Dion Lim reports that Pearsall signed autographs at the Cow Palace before heading downtown to shop in Union Square. Lim’s sources say he was at a high-end designer store just before he was shot. The first-round pick is reportedly focused on his Rolex watch.

The 23-year-old Arizona native is just a week removed from his first NFL game against the New York Jets on Sept. 9, though his status for that game has already been clouded by a shoulder injury. Pearsall was selected with the 31st pick of the NFL Draft in April after playing college games at Arizona State and Florida.

Spokespeople for the San Francisco Police Department and the 49ers did not immediately respond to requests for comment from DailyMail.com.

However, Pearsall’s teammate and fellow receiver Deebo Samuel shared a positive message online.

“He’s good,” Samuel announced. “Thank God!!!!”

Breed has since released a statement about the shooting.

“This afternoon there was an attempted robbery in Union Square involving San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, who was shot,” Breed said in her statement. “San Francisco Police immediately responded to the scene and the shooter was arrested.

“My thoughts are with Ricky and his family at this time. We will provide further updates, including his condition, as I receive them.”

San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins also released a statement after the shooting.

“Violent crime has no place in our city and I will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the San Francisco Police Department and law enforcement to make our city safer,” Brooke said.

“I want to thank the SFPD for the immediate arrest,” Brooke continued. “When the case is brought to my office, we will quickly review all of the evidence and make appropriate charging decisions. We cannot and will not tolerate senseless crime in San Francisco, and my office will ensure accountability.”

San Francisco has been plagued by shootings for years, though Breed boasted in April that violent crime was down 14 percent compared to the same period in 2023. According to City Hall, gun violence was down 38 percent in the first quarter of 2024.

During the pandemic, violent crime in San Francisco has skyrocketed, with 56 and 48 murders in 2021 and 2020, respectively.

Pearsall was performing well during training camp before suffering his shoulder injury.

Starting receiver Brandon Aiyuk had to sit out until this week, but the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Pearsall impressed coaches and teammates with his craftsmanship.

“I don’t like to compliment rookies, but I like his game,” cornerback Isaac Yiadom said in early August, as quoted by the Associated Press. “I think he’s got some confidence, too. He’s got some grit in him, so he knows it. He knows he’s pretty good. I just hope he keeps working. That’s what I like about him. He just goes to work. He just keeps his mouth shut and he just goes to work.”

Coach Kyle Shannahan’s offense has a reputation for being tough on young players, especially receivers, but Pearsall seemed to understand the system.

“I think I’ve made some big strides since I’ve been here,” Pearsall said. “It was a little tough at first. Coming into an offense like this, it’s a complex thing, there’s a lot to it. Trying to learn everything in one day is impossible. So I told myself I could do that over and over and over again, how to get better and know the playbook.”
