Ricki Lake says she’s in the “happiest place in my life” after remarrying after her ex-husband’s death.
The 54-year-old television host was married to jewelry designer Christian Evans from 2012 to 2015.
Christian, who suffered from bipolar disorder, died by suicide on February 11, 2017.

She appeared on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday and also revealed a tattoo dedicated to him from his marriage vow, which reads: ‘I promise to continue to love you’.
She explained: ‘My beloved husband passed away from suicide and bipolar five and a half years ago, so this was his wedding vow to me that I found on the stationery after he died.
“Not only is it a message from him, but it’s also a message for me to continue to love myself.”
Tragically, the 54-year-old television host was married to jewelry designer Christian Evans from 2012 to 2015. Christian, who suffered from bipolar disorder, died by suicide on February 11, 2017.

Ricki remarried her current husband to attorney Ross Burningham this year in a magical backyard wedding, after they got engaged in February 2021.
Speaking about Christian’s death and where she is now, she said, “That relationship and that loss was definitely the darkest period of my life.
“But so many gifts have come true, I have now remarried and now I am very happy in the happiest place in my life.”

Opening up about Christian’s illness, she said, “I didn’t even know what bipolar was when he first told me I didn’t understand a manic episode or a psychotic disorder.
‘It was the darkest time of my life. I have so much empathy for mental health – it’s made me a better person.”
Elsewhere in the chat, Ricki talked about her talk show, Ricki Lake, which aired from September 1993 to May 2004.

She said: ‘I was 23 years old when I did the pilot. In the 90s there were only two or three shows and ours was the one everyone was watching at home from school.’
She added: “I don’t think such a show could exist today. Everyone is so delicate these days to be decisive. It’s a different animal these days, everyone has that immediacy on Twitter.
‘You can’t really learn that kind of work. People relate to me, I’m the girl next door. I loved it.’
Ricki has two children, Milo, 25, and Owen, 21, who she shares with her ex-husband, Rob Sussman.
