Richmond Tigers AFLW star Jess Hosking is slammed for violent message – and it’s not the first time

Tigers AFLW star Jess Hosking has always had a good reputation for her sense of humour, but that fell apart after the 26-year-old was slammed by the league for writing ‘Kill B***hes’ on her strapping band.
She was pictured during Richmond’s 36-point semi-final loss to North Melbourne on Saturday with tape on both shoulders covered with messages scrawled in text.
Beneath the ‘Kill B***hes’ message was a reminder to ‘HAVE FUN’, and the league has asked the Tigers to clarify the explicit wording before issuing an official warning to both Hosking and the club.

‘Kill B***hes’ was easily seen written on the 26-year-old’s shoulder during the side’s loss to North Melbourne on Saturday
“The AFL has sent a request to Richmond’s Jess Hosking after an inappropriate message was written on her shoulder strap during the Richmond and North Melbourne finals last weekend,” the league said in a statement.
“Hosking was extremely sorry and deeply disappointed in her actions.
“The AFL has since accepted a letter of apology from Jess and has issued an official warning to the club and Jess regarding the offensive language,” the statement read.
It’s also not the first time Hosking has written a violent message on her strapping band.
During Richmond’s qualifying final loss to Brisbane on November 5, ‘Smash B***hes’ was written in a similar position near her shoulder.

The 26-year-old has often seen sports messages scrawled in text on her strapping band, with ‘I love Mildura’ as the side played a ninth-round match against GWS in regional Victoria.
Oddly enough, it was written just above, “My girlfriend [girlfriend] looks HAF [hot as f**k] in the sun.’
During an earlier Tigers game at Mildura, she wrote “I love Mildura,” while during the side’s Round 10 game against Melbourne, “Gol Gol [regional Victorian town] for life” was written on her left shoulder.
In a more heartwarming sense, Hosking also had “CleftPals” written during one game, a nod to charity, after she was born with a cleft lip and palate, which saw her endure 17 hospitals and spend much of her childhood in and from hospitals.
Hosking joined Richmond this year after making 30 appearances for Carlton since the 2017 inaugural season, playing alongside twin sister Sarah.
Indeed, Sarah may have been inspired by her sister’s message, which saw the powerful midfielder (legal) Kangaroos player Mia King poleax with a brutal bump as teammate Ellie McKenzie spun off a central bounce.
Sarah Hosking immediately announced herself to the footy world in the first 10 seconds of the inaugural match between Carlton and Collingwood, bulldozing three players after the opening bounce, before delivering a heavy tackle moments later.
Growing up on the Mornington Peninsula, the twins are avid beachgoers and sports fanatics playing every sport – netball in particular was a strong one – they could get their hands on before moving on to footy, with great results.

The two sassy 26-year-olds can often be seen making fun of each other on social media, and are fan favorites for their uncompromising play on the pitch and relatable, bubbly nature off it.
Hosking recently donned a Saw mask on Halloween to scare unsuspecting teammate Monique Conti in the locker room toilets, and last month took advantage of her sunbathing sister several times by dousing her in a full glass of water.
Richmond’s season is now over after the team was beaten extensively at home on Saturday.
Adelaide will try to put a week of heartbreak behind them after former 2017 premiership hero Heather Anderson took her own life on Sunday when they took on arch rivals Brisbane on Friday night.
The Demons and Kangaroos will compete in the other Preliminary Final on Saturday, with the winners of each match going head-to-head in the Grand Final the following weekend.
