A major car crash west of Sydney has caused chaos for commuters during the morning rush hour.
Four cars collided at 6am on Tuesday morning on Richmond Road in Berkshire, a suburb near Penrith, about 55 kilometres west of Sydney’s CBD.
Two vehicles collided head-on, trapping a female occupant as the car was crushed. Another driver was seriously injured.
NSW Ambulance responders are on the scene treating those involved. Long delays are expected in both (north/south) directions and motorists are urged to avoid the area while emergency services attend.
A section of Richmond Road is currently closed.
More coming soon.
