Speaking to Olympian Iwan Thomas, who stranded like many other stars, Richard said, “It’s a good thing you kept your passport with you. And it’s a good thing you have a few credit cards with you.’

Then he added: “Otherwise you were really stuck, you were really just on your a**e.”

A puzzled Kate Garraway turned to Richard, and he quickly corrected himself before adding, “Excuse me. Sit on your bottom, on the floor at the airport, like so many people do.’

Ranvir, 46, was quick to clarify: ‘No, I’ll tell you what happened, Kate. I walked into the building and everyone is freaking out because they couldn’t find your phone. Apparently you lost it!’

Kate finally understood the confusion and her face turned red as she burst out laughing and said, “So you were one of the people who tried to shout it!”

Ranvir added, “Yes! Helen in the dressing room she said, “Ranvir, you have Kate’s number, call me?” so I thought, okay, I have nothing else to do!’

Kate then joked about “high maintenance,” to which Ranvir joked, “Listen, we’re all here in your service and we love it.”
