Richard Keys has been criticized by fans on social media for appearing to accuse Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards of the same sexist behavior that got him fired from Sky.
Keys and longtime television partner Andy Gray were fired from their broadcasting roles on Sky Sports in 2011 after the pair made a series of off-air sexist comments in tapes leaked to the public.
The first leaked recording featured disparaging comments directed at female civil servant Sian Massey, as well as West Ham vice chairman Karren Brady, before later clips also showed them behaving in an inappropriate manner with other co-workers.
Sky made the decision to part ways with Keys and Gray in January 2011, but the duo that exists now remains adamant that they were the victims of a “settlement.”
Now, Keys has once again sparked controversy by comparing his and Gray’s scandal to comments made by Carragher and Richards for US TV network CBS Sports last month.
The former Premier League stars can joke with presenter Kate Abdo in a particular clip posted online where they poke fun at their colleague about her friendship with pundit Thierry Henry.

After being asked how Thierry compares to other star names she’s interviewed, Abdo described the Arsenal legend as “just a friend,” prompting a humorous response from Carragher and Richards.
You hear the latter say, “What kind of friend?”
But Keys clearly didn’t find the exchange amusing, taking to Twitter to compare it to his scandal and seemingly accusing Carragher and Richards of sexism.
The 65-year-old tweeted the one-month-old clip, writing: “After getting into a lot of trouble – largely of my own making – I was really surprised to find that this kind of behavior is apparently okay in a TV studio these days. ‘
However, fans quickly turned to Keys for trying to screw the popular pundits, telling the disgraced presenter that it bears no resemblance to the various incidents that cost him his job at Sky.
One wrote: ‘Not even remotely comparable. Sorry.’
Another wrote: ‘Richard, they’re buddies. What you see here could actually be described as ‘banter,’ while what you said could be described as sexist, I hope that helps clear it up.”

A third commented, “The fact that you think this is the same thing is the most disturbing part.”
A fourth commented, “Context is everything. Thierry is friends with her’.
While they simply concluded: ‘You really haven’t learned from your mistakes’.
Keys and Gray had to defend themselves earlier this month after being indicted by host Gabby Logan with new allegations of sexism.
In her memoir, serialized by the Mail on Sunday, Logan accused the couple of joking about refusing to have sex with pregnant women in front of her because she was expecting twins in 2005.
However, both men strongly deny the claims, with Keys taking a massive swipe at their former colleague while labeling her accusations as “nonsense.”
He wrote in his long blog post“How sad that someone I haven’t seen for 30 years – and for whom I have gone out of my way to help their careers – feels the need to take the cheap and inaccurate option of smearing me – along with pretty much everyone else.” in the industry (including, it seems, the entire Sky business) — in her upcoming autobiography.
Producers, directors, cameramen, sound engineers, statisticians – everyone seems to have either disparaged her or tried to block Gabby Logan’s career. Except they didn’t. In fact, I can’t think of anyone who has had a greater head start.
‘Let me say this. I have dealt with the incidents surrounding my resignation from Sky before. I repeat – resignation. I was not fired. I have taken responsibility for my part in what happened. It is more than time to move on.
‘They gave [Logan] the nickname ‘Gabbler’. She always had a lot to say – not much, very complimentary. If you don’t mind, I find reading Logan’s smear serialization very sad.”
