A grinning Richard Keys shows off the progress of his hair transplant journey.

The former Sky Sports presenter took his retreating mop to the British Hair Clinic in Essex in July in a last-ditch effort to restore his hairline.

At the time, Keys played on the irony of his hair transplant by calling himself the “once hairy man on TV.”

It was wildly claimed that he had laser surgery during Sky to remove excess hair from his hands and arms. before he and co-host Andy Gray left in 2011 following allegations of sexism.

Now he’s on a mission to restore volume to his hairstyle and the clinic has shared a pleasant update on his progress.

In just five months, Keys, 67, has restored a generous package of hair, although more growth lies ahead.

‘Richard came to our clinic in Essex in July and his new hairline is starting to take shape. We will keep you informed of progress,” the clinic promised.

During the summer, a video at the clinic begins with Keys wearing a bandage covering the back of his head and saying, “The once hirsute man on TV did a little bit today to restore his reputation.”

Later he adds, “I’m laughing because I heard the joke.

‘What an irony that someone who has tried to remove hair all his life ends up at the British Hair Clinic to have hair added. I mean, you couldn’t really make it up.

“But here we are, led by Jason McAteer, who has been through this process and looks good – at least that’s what he told me – and Sam Matterface, a very good friend of mine who I worked with for a while at talkSPORT . while.

‘Sam, I spoke this morning and he said, “Brilliant, easy, you’ll love it.”‘

Towards the end of the video, Keys is shown in the mirror after having ink drawn on his scalp. “So that’s the new hairline,” he says. “That’s where the new hairline comes.”

Keys currently works for beIN SPORTS as the Qatari broadcaster’s senior football anchor.
