Richard Keys has accused Pep Guardiola of treating a reporter ‘like shit’ after Manchester City’s draw against Liverpool on Sunday.

Guardiola’s side walked away with a point after the exciting match at Anfield, where Alexis Mac Allister’s penalty canceled out John Stones’ goal in the first half.

The City boss would have been disappointed to leave without a win and apparently made that clear during a post-match interview, according to Keys.

In his blogKeys claimed Guardiola behaved like a ‘disgrace’ to beIN Sports reporter Andy Kerr after the Anfield game.

Keys wrote: ‘What’s wrong with this guy? Guardiola was downright rude to our reporter, the excellent Andy Kerr. If I were Kerr, I would have ended the interview and walked away. And I told him that afterwards.

‘Guardiola was a disgrace. He didn’t care. He offered nothing – just one word answers and a goofy smile. He looked at Kerr like he was a piece of shit on his shoe. He did the same thing last week. In fact, he does the same thing most weeks.

‘Guardiola only talks to journalists because he has a contract to do so. He expressed his feelings about us at a press conference last week.

‘But this is about Senor Guardiola. We’re all trying to get a job done, just like you. No one deserves to be ridiculed by you while doing that work.

“Andy Kerr deserved a better Sunday, not because you are contractually obligated to talk to him, but because you have a moral obligation to treat him – and others – with manners and respect.”

Keys was referring to Guardiola’s outburst during a recent post-match press conference, where he made a cheeky joke to journalists.

After City’s victory over Brentford last month, Guardiola said: ‘I am a manager. My life is better than yours. But nothing personal with you.”

Guardiola also reflected on his decision to replace Kevin De Bruyne during the match

Elsewhere on the day, Guardiola reflected on Kevin De Bruyne’s angry reaction to his substitution, saying he was ‘happy’ with the reaction.

De Bruyne was sacrificed to regain control as Liverpool overran City’s penalty area in the second half, and he looked furious as he took his place on the bench.

“I’m glad to see that!” said Guardiola. “I like it when he’s upset, that’s good. He is happy now. I knew what we were missing, we were missing keeping the ball.

“After (he left) we did better. But listen, Kevin… what can I say for Kevin… we need him and he is important.”
