Real Housewives of Sydney star Sally Obermeder has revealed she made a pact with her sister to start a wellness business if she survives cancer.

The 50-year-old entrepreneur faced her darkest hour when she was diagnosed with breast cancer while pregnant, after which she underwent chemotherapy.

Speaking with The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday, Sally said she wanted to create a business to make people ‘feel amazing’ which later turned into a wellness brand, SWIISH.

“I remember calling my sister (Maha Corbett) when I was six months into treatment,” Sally began about the origins of the brand.

“I wasn’t done and I said to her, ‘If I survive, let’s start a business to help people feel amazing.’ It’s been a decade now.’

Sally reflected on her battle saying that cancer treatment is personal and the disease is something she has to fight alone.

She was diagnosed with the disease back in October 2011, at 41 weeks pregnant and a day before she was due to give birth to her first daughter, Annabel, who is now 11 years old.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia in June, Sally said she was grateful for every day and felt like she was “giving back” in a way after her cancer journey.

“When I had cancer, I enjoyed the love and goodwill of people I didn’t know and that wasn’t lost on me,” she said.

“I thought, ‘What can I do here to feel like I’m giving back?'” I know what it feels like to be sick and what it feels like to be well.

Sally said that working with her sister is enjoyable because they have a ‘close bond’ and are ‘sounding boards for each other’.

“We are polar opposites and that’s beneficial for both us and the business, we come at everything from a different perspective,” she said.
