Former Real Housewives of New York star Ramona Singer faced backlash after posting a sunny clip from her Florida getaway amid the devastating LA wildfires.
The fires, which have claimed 10 lives and forced more than 130,000 evacuations, have affected many in Ramona’s celebrity circle, including Real Housewives of Beverly Hills newcomer Bozoma Saint John, who lost her $5 million Malibu home.
The 68-year-old reality star — no stranger to controversy after being removed from Bravocon for an alleged racial slur — was criticized Friday for what many called a “tone-deaf” post.
The drama erupted when Ramona shared a video of herself beaming on her oceanfront balcony enjoying the “beautiful Florida morning” as she said, “What a way to wake up!” So happy.’
Her caption didn’t help: “A beautiful day to wake up to… Unfortunately, the people of Cali have no idea what their day will bring.”
Fans wasted no time flooding the comments below a repostwith one person joking: ‘Why would Ramona start thinking about others now? #ToneDeaf.”

The 68-year-old reality star — no stranger to controversy after being removed from Bravocon over an alleged racial slur — came under fire for what many called a “tone deaf” post
Another fan said: ‘It’s just classic Ramona – this woman is insufferable,’ while someone else added: ‘Ramona will NEVER miss an opportunity to do the wrong thing…’
Yet another commenter put it bluntly: “She’s not tone deaf. This is who she is as a person. Very egocentric.’
In recent years, the owner of The True Faith Jewelry also became embroiled in a “racial animosity” scandal and was even removed from the 2023 BravoCon lineup.
However, the star has now admitted that fame just wasn’t for her.
‘I never liked being famous. Isn’t there a saying, “fame isn’t what it’s cracked up to be?” the Real Housewives alum told Us Weekly in November while attending the 26th Annual Angel Ball in New York City.
Interestingly enough, though, this isn’t the first time Singer has shared this sentiment about her time in the spotlight.
“I haven’t been on TV for two years now and I’m more relaxed now, I’m happier,” Singer told DailyMail.com in March 2023.
“I’m not bothered by negative things being put out that aren’t true,” she added.

Later, Ramona shared information on how to donate to the victims of the LA fires
“For me, it’s like the ship’s over when it comes to me being on board [the show]. Life is like a shark, you have to keep moving forward. I have a lot of things in the works to look forward to.”
However, in 2023, Singer was shot back into the spotlight after a Vanity fair article claimed that they was at the center of numerous racist complaints within Shed Media, Warner Bros. Discovery, Bravo and NBCUniversal.
She was accused of using the N-word against a black Real Housewives Of New York crew member and saying “most” black people don’t have fathers present in the bombshell report.
All the details of the messy situation were revealed in the in-depth report.
However, sources close to Singer claimed at the time that this matter was investigated by the Bravo show’s production company in 2021 and she was cleared to continue working on the series.
The feature also delved into many different ‘Real Housewives’ scandals and featured stars like Bethenny Frankel and Leah McSweeney.
As of 2021, the Real Housewives of New York has been rebooted with a new cast that includes former J.Crew president Jenna Lyons, fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff, and real estate agent Erin Dana Lichy.
