Luann de Lesseps shared the story of how she lost her virginity in a candid new interview.
The RHONY alum, 59, revealed she was a “late bloomer” who “lacked self-confidence” while discussing her dating history with Rushin an article published Wednesday.
The TV personality – who was recently linked to Mary-Kate Olsen’s ex-husband – admitted she didn’t “have a boyfriend or have sex until I was 18 years old” and that she lost her virginity at prom to a ‘older man. .
‘Yes, I calculated it. We had sex in the car, which is so prom. Jim was older than me, but he was very handsome and sweet,” she said.
‘I thought he was the perfect man to lose my virginity to because he was good-natured. So that was actually a great experience. Then it just continued: the love affair with boys,” the star added.

Speaking about her low self-confidence as a teenager, she said: “I was a late bloomer. I had no self-confidence in my teenage years. I was bigger than all the boys.’
“I remember one boy said, ‘It’s a shame you’re so tall because you have such a beautiful face.’ So I didn’t really have a boyfriend or sex until I was 18 years old. At the ball.’
These days, the star admits she dates “like a man” and knows what she wants in a relationship.
She also stated that low libido is not something she struggles with, stating, “I love men and I love sex.”
As for her preference in men, Luann admits that she has her sights set on foreign countries and younger men.
‘I like European men. I like Latin men. Americans are difficult,” the beauty shared, adding that she is currently living her “best cougar life.”
The former nurse also provided insight into how intimacy can vary depending on a partner’s age.
“So the people in their thirties and forties like my stuff. The over-50s are like, “Oh, shit, I’m 50. I should date a 20-year-old.” And the 60 year olds have a problem in the, like Ramona [Singer] would call it ‘lower level.’

During the interview, she was asked about Summer House star Danielle Olivera, who said she believes Luann hooked up with Joe after they met on Watch What Happens Live.

De Lesseps and Alexandre were married for 16 years before splitting in 2009.
