RHONJ star Jennifer Fessler reveals she was hospitalized after suffering from Ozempic side-effect but hasn’t stopped using it

Jennifer Fessler revealed that her Ozempic use had her hospitalized for an 'impacted bowel', but this hasn't stopped her from continuing to use it.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 55, opened up about the side effects of Hollywood's favorite weight loss drug on her podcast Two Jersey Js.

'I've been there, and I'm not going to call it Ozempic – that's been the umbrella name. But I've been on semaglutide for over a year now and I've lost maybe 22 pounds,” she told co-star Jackie Goldschneider.

'I'm not afraid of Ozempic and I will tell you that I had an experience that was not good – and I'm pretty sure it was about the semaglutide – where I had to go to the hospital for an impacted bowel… and I β€œI'm still not nervous about it,” she said.

The star – who also recently had a facelift and a nose job – admitted that although she noticed 'constipation', she ignored the warning sign, worsening the problem.

“I didn't drink water or eat vegetables because something that happens, a new experience for me, is that I can eat whatever I want, even if it's not the healthiest choices, and still lose weight,” Fessler explained.

“So maybe for the first time in my life, I'll lose weight on pizza, bagels, and ice cream.”

'Then I noticed there was constipation, I didn't do anything about it. “I wasn't taking Miralax, which you take every morning, or any other type of stool softener,” she said.

“I hadn't been there for a week, then it was a week and a half.”

When she thought about it, she said it was her “fault” for “ignoring” the signs and that she has since changed her habits.

“I haven't had any problems since,” she said.

Ozepmic is a diabetes drug that the European Medicines Agency says is used to control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes, but which recently made headlines for its weight loss effect.

Although she admitted to being “a raging hypochondriac,” Fessler stated that when it comes to things involving her “physical appearance,” her anxiety “goes out the window.”

She also admitted that she had lost some muscle mass and that she went to the doctor “every month” to get it checked.

'Physically I feel a lot better in clothes. When I have no clothes on I look 90 because I've lost over 50 pounds in my life… so there's a lot of skin now when you lose muscle and fat.”

β€œAgain, I have to take responsibility for that, in the sense that, you know, you don't build muscle if you just lay horizontally on the bed and eat chips. It doesn't work that way,” she continued.

The star then shared that she has since hired a personal trainer.

Meanwhile, her co-star expressed her disapproval of the medication, which she claims “more than half” of the RHONJ cast is currently taking.

β€œI am an outspoken advocate for eating disorder recovery and a very strong opponent of semaglutides for losing those last 10 pounds,” Goldschneider said.

β€œI think it is a very dangerous trend, but out of respect for each other and our friendship we have never talked about it,” she said.

Fessler previously hinted that she used Ozempic during Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in March.

The star detailed her cosmetic surgeries and use of medications to help her recent weight loss.

“I'm getting a glow!” Fessler revealed it to Cohen when he asked about her makeover, as reported by People. 'What am I doing? Well, I did have a facelift. I did. Dr. Sam Rizk, baby, he's the best. And a nose job!'

The reality star went on to brag, β€œYeah, I don't play, I don't play. And I've lost a lot of weight. I've used peptides and I don't know if you've ever heard of medications associated with them that help people lose weight.'

“Like Ozempic?” he asked.

β€œYou said it, I didn't,” Fessler responded, adding, β€œBut… whatever works, here I am.”

The month before, the Saddle River, New Jersey, resident claimed her doctor prescribed Ozempic to treat menopausal symptoms “without her knowledge.”

β€œI didn't realize what he was giving me,” Fessler revealed during an interview with the Ny Breaking. β€œIt's a lot of different things, like estrogen pellets. He gave me a mix of peptides, but I found out it was a form of Ozempic.”

Despite the weight-loss effects, Fessler said, “Listen, I started taking it because I went to a doctor for menopausal symptoms.”

Fessler first appeared on RHONJ as a guest on season eight in 2018, and only just returned in the most recent season 13 as a friend of the housewives, alongside former housewife Jackie.
