RHOM star says Martina Navratilova is ‘very confident’ amid battle with cancer
Guerdy Abraira of the Real Housewives of Miami has shared an upbeat update on Martina Navratilova’s health battle after the tennis legend was diagnosed with throat and breast cancer earlier this month.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia this week to promote the fifth season of RHOM in HayuGuerdy said he contacted his co-star, Martina’s wife, Julia Lemigova, as soon as he heard the news.
“Things are happening on their end, I don’t know the exact details, but I know they feel very safe,” the 43-year-old said.

“So it put me in a peaceful place where I know I hope everything is okay,” she continued.
‘And Martina also texted me and called me, I wanted to hear her voice and all that. So I’m really happy for them because they’re really tackling it head on and fast and furious so it looks good.
Guerdy has been busy promoting Real Housewives of Miami, which stars Martina’s wife, Russian model Julia Lemigova.
While Navratilova is not a full-time cast member on the show, she has appeared in several episodes, and her marriage to Lemigova has been a story.

Earlier this month, the 66-year-old thanked fans for their support after being inundated with messages from countless well-wishers.
She tweeted: “Needless to say my phone and Twitter are blowing up so I’ll say it again thank you all for your support and I’m not done yet.
”
Navratilova, Wimbledon’s greatest singles champion, announced that doctors had diagnosed her with two types of cancer after she discovered a swollen lymph node in her neck in November.
The former tennis world number one’s diagnosis comes after she was cleared for a non-invasive form of breast cancer in 2010 following radiation treatment.
Navratilova, who won 59 Grand Slam singles and doubles titles in her 40-year career, will not travel to this month’s Australian Open, where she had intended to work as a television commentator.
But a statement from his representative described the prognosis as “good.”
While Navratilova is not a full-time cast member on RHOM, she has appeared in several episodes, and her marriage to Lemigova has been something of a story.
“Martina Navratilova has been diagnosed with stage one throat cancer,” the statement read. ‘The prognosis is good and Martina will start her treatment this month.’
Navratilova, who became a US citizen in 1981, discovered an enlarged lymph node while attending the season-ending WTA Finals in Fort Worth, Texas, and a biopsy showed early-stage throat cancer. While Navratilova was undergoing tests on her throat, the unrelated breast cancer was discovered.
His representative added in a statement: “The type of cancer is HPV and this particular type responds very well to treatment.

Navratilova has been upbeat about the diagnosis, telling fans it’s not over yet.
‘Martina noticed an enlarged lymph node in her neck during the WTA Finals in Fort Worth. When she didn’t come down, a biopsy was done, the results came back as stage one throat cancer.
‘At the same time that Martina was undergoing throat tests, a suspicious shape was found in her breast, which was later diagnosed as cancer, completely unrelated to throat cancer.
“Both types of cancer are in their early stages with excellent results. Martina won’t be covering the Australian Open for Tennis Channel from her studio, but she hopes to join in from time to time via Zoom.
