RHOC Star Gretchen Rossi Reveals Stepson Grayson Has Died Aged 22 After Battle With Cancer

Real Housewives of Orange County alum Gretchen Rossi announced the death of her stepson Grayson on Tuesday.

The 44-year-old reality star took to Instagram to share about the ‘unbearable’ loss of Grayson, who passed away on Sunday. at age 22, after a long battle with brain cancer.

In her post, she shared several heartwarming photos, including some of Grayson and her father, her partner. Slad Smiley, 49.

“Our rational minds told us that this day could come, but our hearts always clung to the hope that this day would not come to fruition,” the legend began.

We are beyond devastated and heartbroken over the loss of Gray. Grayson Arroyo-Smiley was such a special human being.’

‘Unbearable’: The reality star, 44, took to Instagram to share about the ‘unbearable’ loss of Grayson, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 22, after a long battle with brain cancer.

‘He was an angel on this earth and an incredible warrior… a warrior like no one has seen before. He fought every day through his pain and discomfort to find joy in the smallest things. He was always singing, dancing and laughing despite his circumstances,” he continued.

“He was a true beacon of light and hope,” added the star.

“Although his life was cut short on earth, he had an incredible impact on so many people. The Lord knew that his life had a purpose and that he would touch many along the way.’

“We are forever grateful for the many lessons learned from this little man, and his beautiful spirit will be sorely missed.”

‘May the Lord hold him in his hands, renew his broken body and restore him to life.’

At the end of the touching post, she wrote: ‘This is not goodbye but see you soon little man… We love you Grayson. You will be forever in our hearts. Love your dad, Gretchen and your sister Skylar Gray.

“Please respect our privacy as we mourn this unbearable loss,” Gretchen added at the bottom of the photo’s caption.

Rossi’s other half, Slade, who he’s been with for 13 years, shared Grayson with ex-wife Michelle Arroyo.

Her boy: Rossi’s other half, Slade, who she’s been with for 13 years, shared Grayson with ex-wife Michelle Arroyo.

Grayson’s mother also confirmed the news on her social media, sharing that she had been doing better after a series of infections, fever and low potassium levels which she said “probably affected my sweet boy’s heart.”

Rossi, who appeared on RHOC from season 4 to season 8, and Smiley share 3-year-old daughter Skylar Grey, who they welcomed after a long IVF journey.

Skylar’s middle name is in honor of her stepbrother Grayson.

Grayson’s mom also confirmed the news on her social media.

Arroyo shared that Grayson had been doing better after a series of infections, fevers and low potassium levels that, she said, “probably affected my sweet boy’s heart.”

However, she wrote that on Sunday, “her heart stopped here at home” and she performed “chest compressions to make it work until the paramedics arrived and took over.”

Paramedics were able to bring him back and “when he went to the hospital he looked fine and was breathing on his own, but his heart failed again at the hospital.”

‘I’m still in shock and going through the motions to deal with all the details. I know that Gray is playing cards with Grandma and playing trouble with our dear Diane. His dog Mo his is right next to him because he never left him,” she added.

However, she wrote that on Sunday, “her heart stopped here at home” and she performed “chest compressions to keep it going until the paramedics arrived and took over.”

Gone too soon: Paramedics were able to bring him back and ‘when he left for the hospital he looked fine and was breathing on his own, but his heart stopped working again at the hospital’
