She also recently started a GoFundMe to cover the costs of a proper funeral for Grayson and to cover outstanding medical expenses, half of which Slade is allegedly responsible for but has not contributed at all.

The family’s goal is $75,000, with more than $31,000 in donations pledged so far, and the family revealed that Grayson had 29 surgeries over his 22 years, 21 of them brain surgeries.

“Gray’s out-of-pocket medical expenses run into the hundreds of thousands and we are raising money to help cover outstanding amounts as well as expenses related to Gray’s memorial services,” the family said.

“All funds raised in addition to the amount needed to support her mother will be donated to the Amazing Gray Foundation,” the description adds.

Gretchen wrote a heartfelt tribute to Grayson on her Instagram page on February 7, along with several photos of the family over the years.

“Our rational minds told us that this day could come, but our hearts always clung to the hope that this day would not come to fruition,” Rossi began.

We are beyond devastated and heartbroken over the loss of Gray. Grayson Arroyo-Smiley was such a special human being,” he added.

“He was an angel on this earth and an incredible warrior… a warrior like no one has seen before,” Rossi continued.

“Although his life was cut short on earth, he had an incredible impact on so many people. The Lord knew that his life had a purpose and that he would touch many along the way,” he said.

“We are forever grateful for the many lessons learned from this little man, and his beautiful spirit will be sorely missed. May the Lord hold him in his hands, renew his broken body and bring him back to life,’ added Rossi.
