The young soccer star’s mother is feared to have died in a boating accident that claimed the life of another woman after they were thrown from the ship when it collided with a navigation marker.

Rising AFL star Rhett Bazzo’s mother is feared dead after the boat he was in crashed into a buoy, killing another woman.
Kylie Bazzo, 52, was on board with her friends Deborah and John Burdon and another man when the boat struck a navigation marker sending the group flying into the Mandurah estuary, south of Perth, around 10 a.m. p.m. on Saturday.
Ms Burdon, 54, was finally pulled from the water later that night, but the mother of two could not be revived.
Her husband, Mr Burdon, 47, is understood to have been behind the wheel at the time and was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital.
The other man on board was miraculously unharmed.
On Sunday afternoon, the police conducted a large-scale search by sea, land and air, but were unable to locate Ms. Bazzo’s body.

“There has been a massive pool of resources in the district and on the ground to try to locate the person,” WA Police Acting Superintendent Peter Morrissey said. West.
“We’ve done land searches and water searches and at this stage we’re probably in a space where we’re looking to recover the body.”
His 19-year-old son Rhett is a rising star in the AFL and was drafted as a defender at the start of the 2022 season for the West Coast Eagles.
“We are super excited and proud of you Rhett – the hard work and commitment definitely pays off,” Ms Bazzo shared online recently after her contract at the club was extended until 2025.

The tragedy comes after Rhett and his sister Kameron also lost their father Steve Bazzo, a WAFL football legend for South Mandurah, at a young age.
Investigations into how the canoeing tragedy occurred continue.
Witnesses Wendy and Vince McCormack revealed that they saw the boat hit the pylon of his house
“(The boat) was accelerating very quickly and then all of a sudden we heard a bang,” Ms McCormack said.
‘He had no lights on the boat, and he went straight for the red marker there. And then there was silence.
“(We thought) there must have been a tragedy, the fact that it was quiet.”
