The Super Bowl is coming to Las Vegas, but players looking to light up the Strip will be preparing far away from the sights and slot machines of Sin City.
The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers head to the desert this weekend ahead of a mouthwatering climax to the 2023 season.
Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and Co are looking to secure a third Super Bowl in five years, while Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers are eyeing a first championship since 1994.
The two teams meet on Sunday, February 11 at Allegiant Stadium. The 65,000-seat arena is located right next to Sin City’s hotels and casinos.
In the week leading up to game day, however, the Chiefs and 49ers will make their final preparations in Henderson — nearly 20 miles east of The Strip.
The Kansas City Chiefs are staying at the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa ahead of next weekend’s Super Bowl in Nevada
Located in Henderson, the resort is nearly 20 miles from the blackjack tables and bright lights of the Las Vegas Strip
Andy Reid’s players can enjoy a gym, large outdoor pool, basketball court, hot tub, spa and even water sports
The Chiefs players will be treated to incredible views of Nevada as they prepare for the season finale this Sunday
Instead of being surrounded by bright lights and blackjack tables, the Kansas City Chiefs find themselves among golf courses and the waters of the Las Vegas Wash.
Andy Reid’s team stays at the luxurious Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa, on the shores of Lake Las Vegas.
The hotel is also across the water – and just a three-minute drive – from the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa, where the 49ers will be housed.
The Chiefs’ resort is located next to Reflection Bay Golf Club, a picturesque course designed by the great Jack Nicklaus. Hotel guests can play on two championship courts and Kelce and Co can pass the time in many other ways.
Located on the shores of Lake Las Vegas, the hotel has beach access and will help Reid’s players avoid distractions
The picturesque resort is a short drive from the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa, which will host the 49ers
The resort features a steak and sushi restaurant, pool grille and Arabesque Lounge, serving cocktails and local beers
The Westin offers beach access, a gym, a large outdoor pool, a basketball court, a hot tub, a spa and even water sports – there are ‘watercraft’ available for rent.
There are also several places to eat and drink in the hotel, including a steak and sushi restaurant, a ‘pool grille’ and ‘Arabesque Lounge’, which offers ‘craft cocktails’ and local beers.
It remains unclear whether all of Reid’s players will remain at the resort – it’s not unusual for big names to find their own accommodations for Super Bowl week.
Last year, for example, quarterback Mahomes rented an Airbnb in Arizona to stay with his family away from the team hotel. Mahomes, who reportedly earned $56.85 million this season, revealed that he rented an apartment three months before the Super Bowl to save money.
The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa also has its own wedding venue near the water and palm trees
It is the team hotel for the Chiefs, but it remains unclear whether Patrick Mahomes (L) and Travis Kelce (R) will stay there
