Pop star Taylor Swift was among many to congratulate Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman after scoring the winning touchdown at Super Bowl LVIII.

Sunday’s game in Las Vegas ended in the final seconds of overtime. With the San Francisco 49ers ahead, 22-19, Patrick Mahomes found Harman on the right wing to secure their second straight title.

After the match, Hardman shared a moment with the 14-time Grammy winner as they celebrated with Travis Kelce and the rest of the team. Swift and Harman shared a hug while Swift expressed her joy for the former Georgia Bulldog.

‘Absolutely, absolutely’ Swift said after the hug. “So happy for you guys.”

As the festivities continued, the two continued to talk. Although cameras couldn’t pick up much of the conversation, Swift appeared to describe the winning play while Hardman couldn’t hold back his smile.

After being drafted by the Chiefs in 2019, Hardman joins Kelce and Mahomes as members of Kansas City’s three title-winning squads in the past five years.

Hardman made a quick detour to the New York Jets to start the season before being re-acquired by the Chiefs in exchange for a 2025 draft pick in October.

Despite having zero touchdowns with his 124 yards in 2023, Hardman stepped up in the Super Bowl by catching all three targets for 57 yards and the final touchdown. After the match, Hardman admitted he ‘blacked out’ after scoring the match winner.

“I don’t remember anything about it,” Hardman told Today, laughing. “Like, literally. When I grabbed the pass, I blacked out for a moment. I think the magnitude of the moment just occurred to me.

“All I remember is after I caught him, I saw Pat running up to me and saying, ‘You’re a champ.’ I thought, ‘Oh, we won, bet,’ and then I started celebrating.”
