Revealed: US-based wellbeing company co-founded by high profile ‘health guru’ are at the centre of Paul Pogba’s failed drugs test which threatens to end his career

US-based wellness company 10X Health Systems was at the center of Paul Pogba’s failed doping test last year, Mail Sport can reveal.

High-profile ‘health guru’ Gary Brecka and 10X doctor Carrie Carda are also caught up in the storm that has Pogba fighting for his career.

The 30-year-old tested positive for DHEA, a banned substance that increases testosterone, after playing for Juventus in the opening match of the season against Udinese on August 20.

Pogba was subsequently banned for four years, which, given his age, casts doubt on whether he will ever play professional football again.

The former Manchester United midfielder is currently preparing to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

And Mail Sport can reveal that US clinic 10X Health Systems is believed to have supplied Pogba with the pills he claims were responsible for his failed drug test in September, with the firm cited in the midfielder’s submissions.

It is understood there is photographic evidence that the name 10X Health Systems appears on the label of at least one of the pill bottles Pogba received.

Pogba says that after a consultation with Brecka, co-founder and chief human biologist of 10X Health Systems, he was recommended to take a course of tablets after tests revealed certain deficiencies in his body.

Brecka is widely recognized as one of the most recognized figures in the health industry.

He has been photographed with some of the biggest stars in world sport – Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham among those photographed with Brecka, who has been dubbed the ‘celebrity health guru’.

It is also believed that Brecka has a history with NFL and UFC stars and reportedly has a number of clients in the public eye, including P Diddy and Kendall Jenner.

In his comments, Pogba also claims that Dr. Carda, listed as a doctor on the 10X Health Systems website, administered the pills.

It is believed that at least one of the bottles of pills Pogba received had ‘Prescribed by Carrie Carda’ written on the label.

A passage about the 10X Health System reads:: ‘We are on a mission to increase the well-being of people around the world tenfold by improving human performance.

“And here’s the truth: Modern medicine is not a patient-centered practice. We want to take you on a wellness journey that will change your life for the better and take you to the next level.”

They have four health centers in the US, three of which are in Florida and the other in Beverly Hills, California.

Representatives for 10X Health Systems and Pogba both declined to comment.
