Sydney-born fashion designer Daniel Patrick has become a favorite of some of the world’s biggest celebrities, models and professional athletes, but as a child he just wanted to play football, just like his famous father.
Patrick, 38, grew up in the Sutherland Shire and played lower league rugby league for the Dragons and Roosters.

‘I was interested in fashion from an early age and wanted to make it my profession.
‘At the end of 2006 I went to fashion school and delved into it.
‘It was one of those overnight successes that lasted twelve years. A lot of hard work has gone into it.
“I think it’s cool to connect with the athletes because it’s quite organic for me as an athlete to design that way.
‘When I started making clothes, I made clothes that suited me.
“I come from competition and fashion, and I’m not your stereotypical fashion designer, so a lot of the clothes I make fit those bigger, athletic guys.”
Patrick is now creating a limited edition tracksuit for the NRL launch in Las Vegas, which will also be available to supporters.
