Revealed: The staggering amount that Luke Littler could earn over the next ten years following World Darts Championship success

The staggering amount of money Luke Littler could earn over the next decade has been revealed.

The 17-year-old sensation Littler won the World Darts Championship on Friday evening by triumphing against Michael van Gerwen.

Littler secured a 7-3 victory and went one step further than last year when he was defeated by Luke Humphries in the final.

By securing glory, Littler became the youngest ever winner of the tournament, a record previously held by Van Gerwen.

Littler has already established himself as one of the most high-profile sports stars in England and his popularity will now only continue to grow.

After beating Van Gerwen, Littler won a cash prize of £500,000 and is expected to contribute significantly to his earnings in the coming years.

Sports finance expert Dr Rob Wilson believes Littler could earn £100m over the next decade.

It is expected that Littler will have earned around £1 million by 2024 and it is estimated that he could receive £20 million in prize money over the next ten years.

More income could follow if Littler provides insight into his private life through a documentary and if he signs further sponsorship deals.

Dr. Rob Wilson, in conversation with LuckyBlocksaid: ‘The 17-year-old darts sensation backed up his runner-up finish in the 2024 World Darts by going on to win ten senior PDC titles. From prize money and sponsorship he will have collected around £1 million this calendar year.

“Littler’s earnings should be extrapolated as compound interest. As each year passes, his prize money will increase year after year, as will his endorsement activity as his profile grows.

‘He should earn more than twenty million euros in prize money over the next ten years.

Add to that the sponsorship, the inevitable ‘at home with the Littlers’ documentary that will follow and other income streams, and his career earnings could easily reach £100 million.

‘No one has seen this kind of fast profiles and profit explosions in sports. The likes of Ronaldo, Messi and Beckham have all surpassed these numbers, but that came later in their careers. Littler is unique.’

Littler broke down in tears after his win at Alexandra Palace. He then expressed his disbelief at what he had just accomplished.

‘I can’t believe it. We both played so well,” he told Sky Sports.

‘I said in interviews that I had to start quickly tonight and I did that. But he was behind me the whole game, those cover shots – he hit two trebles and I had to come back with two or three.

‘Everyone dreams of lifting this trophy. You have to get through a tough field.

‘I can’t believe it. I keep saying it, but that first match against Ryan Meikle was the match that really mattered, and the whole time I just settled.

‘With a 2-0 lead [in the final set] I started to get nervous, but I told myself to just relax. I pitched before the game and it was special to finish it off then.”
