Revealed: The best items in a British Christmas Dinner, according to AI – so, do you agree with the ranking?
It's a meal that many of us look forward to all year long.
But what exactly are the best items in a British Christmas dinner?
While many of us see roast turkey, goose or ham as the main event, others prefer the trimmings, whether it's pigs in blankets, stuffing or even Brussels sprouts.
With just 10 days to go before we have Christmas dinner, MailOnline asked ChatGPT to rank the items in the meal.
So, do you agree with the AI chatbot classification?
With just 10 days to go before we have Christmas dinner, MailOnline asked ChatGPT to rank the items in the meal
To get to the bottom of your Christmas dinner arrangement, MailOnline simply asked ChatGPT: “How do you rank the elements of a British Christmas dinner?”
Within seconds, the AI bot began to respond, diplomatically stating that “the order of items can vary based on personal preferences and regional traditions.”
However, I eventually arrived at 10 main items.
Roast turkey was chosen as the best item, although ChatGPT said roast beef, goose or pork would also suffice.
'“The roast main course takes first place and is often the centerpiece of a British Christmas dinner,” ChatGPT said.
Second place was taken by the filling, which the AI bot described as a “popular and delicious accompaniment to roasting.”
The “beloved side dish” of baked potatoes came in third place, with ChatGPT requiring them to be “crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.”
Meanwhile, the “rich and flavourful” broth was considered the fourth most important ingredient in Christmas dinner.
The meal wouldn't be complete without Pigs in Blankets, which came in fifth place.

Although they can be controversial, Brussels sprouts were ranked sixth in importance, followed by carrots and parsnips, then Swedish mash and mashed potatoes.
The final item of the main meal was cranberry sauce.
“Cranberry sauce is a sweet and tangy addition to complement meat, usually ranked lower but important,” ChatGPT said.
Finally, the AI bot says that the main course should be followed by either a Christmas pudding or mince pies.
“Traditional Christmas sweets are served at the end of the meal, providing a sweet and festive finale,” she said.
Maybe you're screaming at your computer about a shortage of certain items, whether it's a Yorkshire pudding or cauliflower cheese.
However, ChatGPT added: 'It is important to note that classification can vary from household to household, and individual preferences play an important role in determining the importance of each item in a British Christmas dinner.'
The ranking comes shortly after MailOnline commissioned ChatGPT to create the perfect Christmas sandwich.
Unsurprisingly, the robot says a roasted turkey — whether sliced from leftover Christmas turkey or freshly roasted — is the first ingredient in the sandwich.
The filling and cranberry sauce are next on the list.

“The traditional sage and onion filling adds a delicious and festive touch,” ChatGPT explained.
“A generous dollop of cranberry sauce adds sweetness and complements the turkey.”
Meanwhile, what good Christmas sandwich would be complete without a drizzle of gravy?
ChatGPT claims that this ingredient is essential for “extra moisture and flavour.”
Of course, bread features on the menu, with ChatGPT suggesting “a hearty rustic bread or a soft roll to bring it all together.”
Finally, the AI bot suggests a rather unusual ingredient: cheese.
“Optional, but some people like to add a slice of brie or mild cheese to balance the flavors,” she explained.
